Was surprised when I saw a photo of this version because I had never seen it . When I did I decided to try and build it .  I was not able to find many photos but some of the fellows here were quick to post some . While not a perfect replica I think I got it kind of close . After I did all the mods I put it in primer and Tamiya Pure Red .  ( not sure of the correct color of actual car ) Anyway it was time for decals and clear . I have been using the Duplicolor 1k clear and really like it . I had a couple coats on and it looked pretty good . But , as I am not one to leave well enough alone I decided to spray another coat . Bad idea . It crinkled in spots . I didn’t have anymore of the decals so I did not want to strip and start over . I wet sanded best I could and then put two coats of the Future on it . I used parts from two kits . AMT Cobra Roadster and the Sunny AC 427 mostly for the body . The side openings in the body needed to be filled . The roof is a modified unit from the custom roof in the AMT kit . It was modified by just using the front of the stick piece and using sheet plastic to make the roof longer and to create the side panels . Tires and wheels from the parts box as well as the decals . The rectangular hole was cut in the hood and the scoop was made with sheet plastic. Grill opening was modified . I did put an engine in it but glued the hood because the engine in these kits were not very good . I am pretty happy with it and it looks good if you don’t look too close . Seems no matter how hard I try I can always manage to screw something up !  Thanks for looking and reading this long post .

First time I see a top on a cobra. Turned out real nice,  your work sure paid off. BTW, I'm still to build a model without screwing something up big or small ?

Great work, this looks awesome. All my models have little imperfections too, we just don’t look too closely and just enjoy the process of building and displaying
