Dave B Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 (edited) First of all I would once again like to thank my old mate Phil for the filament printed body and our friend Vlad for the file. This is my take on DBR1/2 as raced at the Tourist Trophy at Goodwood in 1959. Originally driven by Shelby/Fairman it was subsequently taken over by Moss and driven to victory. The same car also won Le Mans 1959 (Shelby/Salvadori) and finished 2nd in the 1959 International Trophy at Silverstone (Moss) making it possibly the most famous of the DBR1's and instrumental in Aston Martin winning the Sports Car World Championship. The wheels are from the Hasegawa TR59 (TR59 kit was fitted with Hasagawa's photo etched wires) and all the other parts I did in resin from my stash. Paint is an auto acrylic mix I did and clear coated and the clear parts were vacformed by me. Urethane tyres and decals are also from Phil. Thanks for looking. Gramps46 Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 (edited) Very well done David. You must have put a lot of effort into getting the body smooth but it turned out looking super. What did you use for the outside spoked wire wheels? Edited August 15, 2022 by Gramps46
Rich Chernosky Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Really nice job, Dave, on an iconic racer.
