cruz Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 (edited) Definitely a kit catered to the advanced modeler. This thing is simply finicky and a little tedious specially when the time comes to adding all those body details. Photo Etch items are from AK Models P/E Detail Set, it truly puts it over the top. I should’ve dulled those rims a bit but this was more of a test run to have a feel for the kit. I have two more of these in my stash and they will certainly be built more like the 1/1. Paint is Splash Paints Rosso Corsa with a Dupli-Color 1K Clear and yes, it was shot straight out of the can, something I never like doing but again, this was more of a test run. I did wet sand, polished and waxed. Wheels and tires are not from this kit, they are actually from Fujimi’s tire and wheel set. I thought the ones in the kit were horrible. Hope you guys like it….. Joe Nunes Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Great looking model! The Ferrari 250GTO is my favorite and you sure did an outstanding build with this one. ?? Joe
Hi-Po Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Beautifully done! Nice and neat with great detailing.
Jim B Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Great looking Ferrari. Didn't Ferrari race these cars?
1959scudetto Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Excellent model - too nice to be used in races.
Joe Nunes Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Came back to look at this model again. What a gorgeous and believable execution on this 250GTO. The paint looks so nice and the shine is very appealing. Can you please share with us how you got the paint to look so realistic? Joe
Bainford Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 A beautiful model of a beautiful car. Well done.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 That looks incredible, just like all of your builds! If this is just a "practice" car, I can't wait to see the result of the one you go all out for!
AMT68 Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 Stunning work. That red certainly suits the car.

Joe Thank you my friend, it’s nothing special, just the use of a Micro Mesh Polishing System and a light hand. YouTube is full of videos on the subject. I would share my own video but it is done in Spanish…. 1
Joe Nunes Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 ...a light hand...that can make a real difference and it shows on your model. Joe
Street Rod Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 Beautiful Ferrari! Two thumbs up! I have to agree with Dragonhawk above, if this is a test run I can’t wait to see what happens when you get serious, lol!
DanL Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 It's a beauty... has to be one of the finest automobile designs ever. Cheers DanL
Andrew McD Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 "this was more of a test run to have a feel for the kit." Clearly you got a good feel for it! Beautiful work.
