iBorg Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 I wonder if they finally modified the Datsun hood unit or cab so they'll actually fit. I've never seen one yet that does.

Rob Hall Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Looking forward to the '68 Coronet and new Charger kits this month. 3
keyser Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 In on Coronet and Vette. I don’t recall both tops included in the Vette, despite annuals and many reissues. Coronet earlier than I expected. 1

Luc Janssens Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 IMHO it would be neat, if the guys at Round2 could include the wrecker parts which were in earlier variations of the Datsun flip-front P/U in the stock version. The Coronet I already have on pre-order, ready for pickup when back in the US in April, hopefully the H/T isn't far behind.....
Mr mopar Posted January 4, 2023 Author Posted January 4, 2023 With all the work on the Coronet r/t why not put a roof up option ? 2
Mark Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Not sure whether or not the Prestige issue Corvette had both tops. The convertible body and related parts were tooled by Ertl in the late Eighties and are unrelated to the annual kit parts.

Smoke Wagon Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 It appears on the ‘63 Corvette box, that the Germans were doing a lot of racing in the early 40’s.
martinfan5 Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 The only kit I care about this month is the Charger kit? 1
1972coronet Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Coronet - at least one copy ! Datsun Pickup - YES ! I positively love the 2021 [ad seq.] Charger, but I'll wait until the 'A38' (or whatever the police package is dubbed now) version.
keyser Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 (edited) Can’t believe you’re in on the Coronet! Charger isn’t in this vid I can tell, did I miss it? I fast forwarded with sound off becuz Chad Edited January 4, 2023 by keyser 1
espo Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 The Coronet RT looks interesting, and I like the idea of a utility trailer. The '63 Corvette kit, I'm wondering if they're still using the same engine block for the 427 and the 327 just as AMT did way back when. This was a good kit with a lot of extras, so it's a maybe with a parts box engine swap.

GMP440 Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Will definetly be getting the 68 Coronet kit. Really looking forward to this for a long time.
THarrison351 Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 I've been wanting the Coronet ever since it was first hinted years ago. Gives me hope for the Demon. I built that Datsun turd when I was a kid and immediately blew it up with a firecracker. Won't be trying it again fifty years later

Won't be trying it again fifty years later I'd like to see the Demon receive the same upgrades/updates as the Coronet (new 340 engine, with matching - and corresponding - Torqueflite, and corrected front clip). I built the tow truck version of the Datsun pickup when it was new (c.1981), and I'd had a difficult time with it (I was 11 or 12). I'd built the stock versions of the same truck from 1977-1979 with zero issues -- must be the different frame, separate front clip, and the interference between the rear wheels and rear wheel openings -- something easily worked around these days (i.e., not purely OOB build).
