Can-Con Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 (edited) Just a little diversion. Mostly from the box with modified parts box wheels dropped front axle and wired kit flathead. Tamiya pearl yellow spray, wood done with various Tamiya acrylics and craft paints. Edited April 9, 2023 by Can-Con 8
Chuckyg1 Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 Look good. I'm working on a 32 roadster right now and am stuck for a color. Image a can of this color. It looks great on your woody, and just might find it's way on to mine. Nice build and thanks for the inspiration. 1

larman Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Great job! I was following the wip thread on this. The stance, color, wheels an wood grain make this a stand out! 1
Dennis Lacy Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Wow, this turned out really cool! Nice job on the wood effect and really like the pearl yellow and American’s. 1
espo Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Great looking paint work and clean looking trim. Like the built Flat Head and the Wheels. 1
Sledsel Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Love that pearl yellow!!!! What did you do to get the nose in the weeds? 1
mrm Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Very well done! You don't see many street rods done in yellow in scale. Which is a shame really, as I think '20/'30s Fords look great in yellow. 1

I think the same part is in the recently reissued '27 phaeton kit but I'm not sure.
XYHARRY Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Great build Steve. That pearl yellow looks awsome. I'll be getting some of that. Well done. Cheers, David. ?? 1
Zippi Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Nice looking 29 Woodie Street Rod. That yellow looks great. 1
Mr. Metallic Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Great hot rod woody. People want to bag on this kit because of the molded in stuff, but you've shown that with a little effort this kit can be a gem. 1
Dave Darby Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Looking good Steve, I've got on sitting on AMT chassis and fenders I need to wrap up someday. 1
Slotto Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Great looking Woodie. Love her in yellow. Great color combo 1

Dave, have you test fitted the hood on with the rad and body yet? Mine had about a 1/16 gap when I but them together as instructed. I had to move the rad back to close the gap and clear the headlights and their bar.
Silvercreeker Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Dropping the front axle makes that kit so much better looking! 2

Mine had about a 1/16 gap when I but them together as instructed. I had to move the rad back to close the gap and clear the headlights and their bar. That's one of the reasons I used the AMT fenders. That and I like the AMT radiator shell better. When MPC did the small block chevy powered version in 1978, they moved the radiator forward a bit and put mounting ears on the lower sides of the radiator shell. While I'm not planning on running a hood, I think I remember test fitting an AMT hood (which I think is shorter) and it fit fine. That said, I'll give it a test fit tomorrow and get back with you. 1
