69H.O.Firebird Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 (edited) I built this as a kid back in 1973. This time I think that I did it Justice! Paint is tamiya metallic orange with testors wet look clear from the rattle can. a lite polish with tamiya compounds. Wheels are done with metalizer aluminum, tires were given a flat clear coat. black parts are semi gloss black. Edited September 5, 2023 by 69H.O.Firebird 6

Yeah Nah Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Looks great Bruce! Paint looks fantastic. Reckon you could upload some bigger photos?
69H.O.Firebird Posted September 5, 2023 Author Posted September 5, 2023 I added bigger pics as requested. Thanks
espo Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Great looking paint finish and color. Clean looking body trim.
karbuildr Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Nice, very nice. Color and details are very well done.
Fat Brian Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Very nice, this is one of the few TD kits I like. How much does the chassis of this kit share with the Monogram 78 pace car kits?
Straightliner59 Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 I've loved this kit, since it was released. It was only about five years ago that I finally got a very clean built-up, which was the first one I've ever owned. Earlier this year, I got one that's near mint for a great price. I love the color you used! Nice work!
atomicholiday Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 This is one of my all time favorite kits too, and you absolutely nailed it. That's just gorgeous. The paint is really striking.
Rich Chernosky Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 This kit , and your build...which is great by the way...always brings back one of my fondest memories of all my years modeling. Found this kit as a "glue bomb" at one of my local hobby shops. Salvaged it and put a nice paint job on it similar to yours. (got a pic somewhere) When finished I put it on display at another hobby shop. Another modeler was admiring my build and commented he had the kit as a kid but traded it off and wished he had it back. Well....after some investigating it turns out that it actually was his kit he built as a 13yr old. We still have a good laugh about it 20yrs later.

happy grumpy Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Great build and that Tamiya orange really makes it pop.
Koellefornia Kid Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Every time I see one of these kits built, I say to myself: I need one of them! Especially when it it looks as nice as this one! Love the colour!
Jonathan Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Beautiful work! I love seeing these built. I have managed to gather enough bits and pieces over the years to hopefully build one someday soon
KWT Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Very nicely done. I have always wanted this one
