H.A.K Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Dont like that car. But you did a great job on it man.
CorvairJim Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 The Avanti has long been a favorite of mine, and my wife wants one some day. I'm afraid that a model of one is the best I'll be able to do for her any time soon. Your salty dog might help me get in gear to start yet ANOTHER project!
Sixties Sam Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Nice! Great engine detail, and is that salt on the tires? Cool! Sam
Joe Handley Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Nice looking build, are those set up as a draw through type induction with the carb mounted before the superchargers?
curt raitz Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Nice looking build, are those set up as a draw through type induction with the carb mounted before the superchargers? Not sure, but here's a couple of photos I used to detail the engine...

W-409 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Great Studebaker. I really like the over all look, and stance. This is the thing, I would build from Avanti too, so the subject is interesting, too. Great job.
Terry Sumner Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I like it! And I like the little detail that you did correctly...the class designation! D/PS Good job man!
slusher Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Something different and well built, great engine detail..
Gluebomber Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Very Cool! And thanks for the reference pics. I just picked up the re-release of this kit and the pictures will be useful. Great Job!

espo Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Great looking build. As I recall the OEM Avanti"s had a Paxton super charger that blew thru the carb. You're reference photos look like some type of fuel injection setup.
Crazy Ed Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Great looking build. As I recall the OEM Avanti"s had a Paxton super charger that blew thru the carb. You're reference photos look like some type of fuel injection setup. David, the Dual Paxton R5 Engine used Bendix Fuel Injection. Curt, Another in a long Line of Excellent Builds of interesting subjects.
Raul_Perez Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Nice build, my old friend!! Hey...maybe we can get Clay to bring the one I built for him a couple of years ago to the NNL West It was built as a salt-flat car, too!!
Bernard Kron Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Nicely done. I especially like the stance and the under hood detail.
