unclescott58 Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 Appropriate considering today's weather. Another kit Round 2 needs to dust off and bring back. High on my list of "hope have someday" kits. Hey, they brought back the Honda Trail 70 and the Rupp Roadster. So there is always hope. Scott
cobraman Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 This came yesterday. I have built this kit a couple time in years past but decided to do another one. I want to do something "different" with it but have not decided what that might be.

I want to do something "different" with it but have not decided what that might be. That's a decent kit with a lot of potential! I have the Bad Actor kit to do some day. How about you do it with a truck bed?
Casey Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 That is cool Casey, do not see that around to much. The build ups are still pricey sometimes. I was happy to pay the asking price for this one, mainly because it's complete and unstarted with a few parts loose. The Seller removed them so they would not break off No snapped off wheel mount bosses easily adds $20 to the price. Nice score, Scott.
gtx6970 Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 Mail man dropped these off today. All original issues 1962, 1963 and 1964 Galaxie convertibles . The 64 even still has the clear head lenses for the working lights
Ron Hamilton Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 Mail man dropped these off today. All original issues 1962, 1963 and 1964 Galaxie convertibles . The 64 even still has the clear head lenses for the working lights I wish that the '63 and '64's had up tops like the '62.

I want to do something "different" with it but have not decided what that might be. One of my all time favorite kit designs. I have two. One I built a couple of years ago. And had another signed and sent to me not too long ago by Tom Daniel himself. I've always had a soft spot for 1960 Chevys and sedan deliveries. Combine the two into a not too radical custom, and you've got a winner to me. Which is exactly what Tom did with the original design back in the early 1970's. For whatever reason, I never like the modified versions that followed, like the Quicksilver, etc. Only the Steet Fighter/Badnews. Scott
vintagedragcrazy Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 I got a big box of stuff from fireball resins!!!vince

lordairgtar Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Got my Heller Ferguson Tractor kit. Very nice layout of the trees. Just be very careful with removing the really thin parts. A couple of control rods are very fragile and will break.
KWT Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 I got the Molotow Chrome pens yesterday in all 3 sizes. Can't wait to check them out and see what all the fuss is about. Got these last night, for my birthday... And got this back from the paint shop this past week... painted in 100% real nitro lacquer just like back in the day. Kinda excited since I've never played one in laquer.. can't wait to get it together and jam! Happy birthday to me!
PatW Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Just won on ebay UK, a damaged kit, previous owner tried to cut the interior floor out! Easy, stick it back in! Only other prob.......No Decals! Not bad for under £10!
Snake45 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Local toy show, bought four clean-ish builtups for resto-Snakification: '69 GTX, '66 T-Bird, '68 Dart (VERY clean, that one), and '70 Monte Carlo. Also bought a "project": two '66 Rambler Americans (the Testor boxing), neither anywhere near complete, but I'm pretty sure there's enough stuff between the two boxes to get one car of some kind together. (The top has been chopped clear off one body and is gone.)
tedd60 Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 (edited) Dear Mr. Maisto, I actually have bought a LOT of your 1/18 scale diecast. For the most part, your stuff is not to bad ... and I have to admit that the prices are GREAT ... mostly. However, the 1951 Beetles that you build are not scale models at all. The only Beetles to have coil springs were the Super Beetles, with their McPherson Struts. Even the Super Beetle has two shock absorbers, but your models have none. BTW ... VW beetles never ran their ignition wires under the car. And you have 2 two many vertical supports on the front axle beam. The 1200, 36 hp engine is ... close, but no cigar. You did do a nice job on the wheel used for the spare, and the emblem on the hub caps. The only other nice thing I can say is I was able to knock both of them apart before the mailman got back in his truck. T Sharp eyed readers should be able to spot 6, possibly 7 model builds in this pile of stuff. At least, that's what I'm telling the wife. Let's see how I do. Now to cut the fenders off the blue one. WOW ... Diecast is WAY harder to cut than plastic. It took almost 18 minutes and I had to use a 4" Makita grinder to do the job. Edited March 6, 2017 by tedd60
iamsuperdan Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 And got this back from the paint shop this past week... painted in 100% real nitro lacquer just like back in the day. KWT Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Awesome!Warmoth products are fantastic! I have a Strat neck on one of my guitars and it's just awesome in every way.Post pics when yours is back together!I put together a Warmoth partscaster a couple years ago. I finished it in Minwax special walnut and covered in birchwood casey Tru-oil. It quickly became my #1. Hope this one is in the same ball park when I'm done. I'll post up some stuff as it comes together. Thanks for the interest, Dan!
