Mark Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 The AMT '66 Impala big-block (in the annual kits) had the '63 Mystery Motor exhaust manifolds, which are as close to cast headers as anything else up to that time. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure the Modified Stocker doesn't have them. The original issue of the V8 Ranchero (from 1977) shows them on the box art illustration of the engine, but they're not in that kit.

Anyhow, it looks like a nice kit...Al I'll be glueing it together, and also airbrushing it in Deutz dark green tractor enamel, the wheels are painted in an RAL code paint,Revell supply stickers in the kit for younger builders who just what to build it without painting, they also supply a waterslide decal sheet if you want to paint and detail the model, Edited September 26, 2019 by GeeBee

I've got the Porsche junior tractor to build for a magazine product review first, again I'll be airbrushing it in Porsche tractor red with cream wheels, both paints are available from a few tractor and construction equipment paint suppliers, 500mls are the smallest quantity i can buy, so I'm going to have a lot of paint left over.

Straightliner59 Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 (edited) I never thought most of the deals on Ebay for parts from kits were worth their cost. However, because I needed the rear end and brakes from a '50 Olds for my Surfers dragster, and found someone selling just the chassis parts (not shown, I also received the chassis, itself, front suspension and exhaust parts), for $12.50, and free shipping, I couldn't pass it up, in order to keep a kit intact. I also got this digital angle finder, because my old, plastic medical one is getting more and more difficult to read! Edited September 26, 2019 by Straightliner59

GeeBee Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 I really should stop looks on Ebay ended up buying these two
stitchdup Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 A bit of a lucky bargain, the esci escort kits seem to hold their value pretty well so I was pleased to get this incomplete one for about 20 quid. I thought it was the rally version but when it arrived it turned out to be the circuit racer version. The decals are toast and theres no instructions or tyres but I'm very pleased. I also got a tamiya toyota celsior and a load of humbrol acrylics
ewetwo Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Since I stopped in at Hobby Lobby Yesterday. I purchased this pin driver because I remember a discussion about them here in the forum.

Brudda Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Yup. Usually can not afford all of these but the price is good. He has all the 1/20 tamiya f1 kits also. I’m picking those up in two weeks.
vintagedragcrazy Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 My haul from the show in pittsbergh pa. Vince

ChrisBcritter Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Just got back from the DuPage show; picked up mostly parts - some glass trees with headlight lenses, a couple aftermarket-style air cleaners, pre-wired distributors and a couple Fireball Motorworks Chevy Q-jet carbs. I also got another nice clean AMT Craftsman '57 T-bird; molded in light blue and to my surprise thoroughly stuck together with about a tablespoon of silicone . This was taken after I cleaned all that stuff out and added a Craftsman top from my stash, then cleaned up the flash and mold lines, and made a bunch of little trims here and there to get the top to sit more or less correctly. A fun afternoon's work!

It's not complete (no engine, taillights, wheels, tires, missing several chassis components) but what made this one especially attractive to me is it comes with TWO hoods, TWO front and rear bumpers (and grilles), TWO front valences, TWO bare chassis, TWO rear axles, TWO interior tubs, and one convertible boot I desperately need for a '65 convertible rebuilder I already have. Lotta good stuff for a couple of '66 Chevy projects I have going on, including trying to get one of the dirt-track modifieds onto the street. And here it is.
