Nosferatu Posted April 30 Posted April 30 I found these at the Goodwill in Prescott Valley yesterday. With senior discount I paid $8.25. The Porsche is still in the plastic bags. Dave 8

OldNYJim Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Picked up the new Ammo colored styrene cement: Premise is, you can see a little easier your glue joints to make sure you got ‘em as good as you’d like I guess. Pretty sure it’s a gimmick, but I wanted to try it anyway… 1
mcs1056 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Got the first item pictured a little bit ago. Planning to repaint to become a "Twin Pines Dairy" truck, which was the local milk & egg delivery service here when I was a kid. Teardown to begin this weekend. 8

64SS350 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 This arrived today, a bit worse for the wear. Came wrapped well in bubble wrap and only a plastic mailing bag. Kit seems unharmed. Also, engine was started, which wasn't stated or shown in pics. 1 2

Looks like lots of pieces have been removed from the sprue in the picture. I sure hope that it is complete. Edited May 2 by Bill Eh? 1

johnyrotten Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Today was a great day. Found one of MY must have kits, a 68 roadrunner. Picked up a monogram 39 chevy delivery and a 5 window tall T and a couple glue bomb/rebuilders to try something new. Best part of the day was when bought the 39 and 68, the seller threw in a 57 Fairlane for free. Absolutely awesome guy. 4

OldNYJim Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Took a trip to the Lobby of Hobby this morning, to see if they’ve filled any of the gaps in their shelves…and actually, they have! A few anyway… Picked up this newbie…I THINK this is the same as the other 60 that they sell, but without the go-kart? Maybe shoulda got the one with the kart (but I didn’t compare yet) - plus some discounted acrylics: Needed this for my latest build: And I hadn’t seen this one before, and I’d like to build a lowrider so it followed me home: Nice to see some new stuff there anyway! 6

Ace-Garageguy Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Had to physically go to one bank yesterday, and with a couple ibuprofen it wasn't too bad. Since I was within 100 yards of the "antique mall" where I'd been getting the fantastic HO scale train deals, I figgered I might as well take a look. The stall that used to be my train go-to no longer has anything worth anything in HO, and has shifted entirely to mostly toy tinplate O gauge and a little S gauge stuff. However...the stall that sometimes has pretty good deals on plastic models had a Monogram 1/24 427 Cobra "Metalflake" edition and a repop boxing of the AMT 1/25 '63 Ford 500XL Styline kit, both sealed and unmolested...cheap. I already had plenty of 1/24 Cobras, but this one was so cheap I can always use it for parts...or maybe a what-if blown Dragonsnake...and the '63 Ford plugged another hole in my AMT annuals lineup. Though I'm kinda tempted to build one of the Styline kits with the full-boogie kit-supplied custom bodywork now that I have the skills (the ones I built with AMT's shrink putty when I was a kid weren't great), most likely I'll do it up prepped for NASCAR. There's something I really like about the wide steel wheels and fat rubber under this body style. 9

I am doing the same thing with the 61 Ford Galaxie kit. I will be using the bubble top from the Monogram 58 T-Bird 4
obs.caleb Posted May 6 Posted May 6 After years I finally restocked on glue and knife blades. I got a few other things too... 5

It only had one other release back in the mid-90s the year after the stock pickup kit was done. It's one of a slew of "B-Side" kits of that era of AMT/Ertl - like the Lowrider 70 Monte Carlo - that never saw the light of day after Racing Champions bought the company until Round2 started reissuing them again over the past 6-8 months. 1
Spottedlaurel Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Can't remember if I showed this Toyota kit by Nitto that I got back in March: Happily I got a Nissan companion for it last week: 4
