Stopped at HL.  Didn't have anything new.

But since it's 40% off week, I picked up another Supernatural '67 Impala and my umpteenth Revell '29 A Roadster.

All this stuff isn't going to get any cheaper...

I think I've turned into the '62 Chrysler version of our friend Cobraman:

So I spot this thing on eBay last night - original issue with correct interior, wide whitewalls, wire axles and chassis screws; minus the hood, opening bid $35 - and add it to my watch list to see how the bids go. This morning in my email I get one of those "private offers" for 42% off, in other words cheeeeep; and, well...

The original builder got a bit sticky-fingered installing the left skirt :

So anyway, I swear this is the last '62 Chrysler - Revell, Jo-Han, or even Atlantis (?) - I'm buying.

Over a year later, and after getting outbid on a couple others, I got an NOS hood:

My actual model building is on hold for now; since I moved back to CA I've been working pretty much six days a week and where I live I don't really have a hobby space figured out yet - although everything is safely stored.

Had to go to the local hardware store for a couple cans of that lovely Touch N Tone flat black. Was also gonna grab another can of their primer gray, but they didn't have any. But they DID have Touch N Tone Satin Black, which I'd never seen before. I'm always on the lookout for satin blacks, so I grabbed a couple cans of that, too. Can always use it on interiors and chassis, if nothing else.

On the way back, had to come right past the auto parts store, so stopped in to see what touchup paints they had. Got a can of Duplicor "Dark Garnet Red" (kind of a maroon) and a nice medium blue. Lordy, lordy, the Duplicolor is up to almost $13 a can now, but they're big cans and each one should do at least two to three models, or more.

Snake. I found the duplicolor seem to clog up after a use or two….so clean the tube and nozzle as best as u can or plan to decant after a model or two.

With Duplicolor, it's a good idea to wipe the nozzle with a clean rag dipped in lacquer thinner right after you finish spraying.  If you have multiple cans of the same, or similar color (or clear, or primer) I'll take the known to be good nozzle from the empty can and switch it to the "next" can.  The unused nozzle then gets set aside, in case I run across a bad one later.

I picked these up at Modelpalooza yesterday. Saw more that I wanted but didn't need. the 3 gluebombs are '61 Galaxie convertibles that I need for parts, the find was the Floquil for $1/bottle. I bought all he had. Found a few sets of Caprice wheel covers that I need for my Astronaut Corvette project. Good day all around!

I posted a bunch of pics of the show in the contest & shows section.

Added to the ole glue bomb and rebuilder pile today! Finally scored an Amt falcon, a pretty nice 1967 done in the drag option. It’s missing some parts but I’m sure the parts bin will come to the rescue

The plan for those 2 is to make one out of the box.
The other to be converted to the Duel truck
The one i already have i plan to make a needle nose Peterbilt wrecker of

I had first planed to use my california hauler to convert in to the Duel truck but seeing how much people are asking for them now i just cant cut it up and modify it.
Not going to sell it either but just keep it as a stock california hauler.

Got that '62 Chrysler hood today - inside the box, it was wrapped with several feet of toilet paper .

And it was two-ply!

In a couple months, you might be able to sell it on eBay and turn a profit! :lol::lol:

oh boy!  oh boy!  I am taking my wife to the Local Hobby Store this morning!  She saw a 57 Chevy kit online there, and wants to get it as her father had one like it back in the day!  They also have some other "animal" kits and wants to get some Christmas presents for the nieces....I can't pass this up.

Need some Tamiya paints anyway....  :)
