A modeler named mike Posted June 1 Posted June 1 (edited) Off of ebay comes another show rod to fill the void. I thought judging from the sellers photos it was missing the rear slicks and the decals. I was wrong, it's missing the two front tires and the decals were tucked in the instruction sheet. More than likely I have tires that'll work nicely. Edit: upon information given by Mr. Mopar, those front tires are not missing. They are molded in plastic. But I will still use rubber tires when it's built. mchook Posted June 1 Posted June 1 I got 3 Ollies kits and an ebay 3d printed 68 AMX body. Is it me or is this body a lot smaller than 1/25? Next to my Rambler it looks tiny. 4

Zen Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Ollie's is all good for me too, wish mine had the 32 Ford. Will have to dig out a Rambler & AMX body and compare the size. 1
meechum68 Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Time for me to hit Ollie's up again!! One of my favorite places to hit up for good priced kits. The last thing I got was a week ago, and it was this: The wife and I are going to a little town in MO that does quilting and I saw they had a few shops there so going to try and grab another 3-5 kits while there. 4

This is one kit where my brain says.... buy as long as you don't go over 150 for the kit. Otherwise, I am like you, look for sales, and buy at that time.
rattle can man Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Bandit 1, In case you are wanting to source parts, that red coupe is a '37 Chevy. The extra cab, fender, and blue dual axle trailer were all from a version of the AMT '53 Ford pickups.

After reading your post and going back to look at the gray plastic trees, Walla, there they are. I may have to source some real rubber up front too. Many Thanks for steering me right. Mike 1

Mark Posted Sunday at 09:58 PM Posted Sunday at 09:58 PM Went to a local flea market "garage sale" (first Sunday of the month; they're trying to stretch it to twice a month but it's not flying). Camaro kit is complete, parts bag sealed. Got it for the average retail price of a current car kit. Not bad for a 47 year old kit. The Dremel is a single speed model which I don't think they make anymore. I had an eye open for one, as I have a Dremel separate speed control unit. The Dremel tools with built-in speed control operate at a minimum of 5,000 rpm. With the separate control, this one can be reduced to 1 rpm. The tag said "Sixties" but the paperwork with it is all dated 1995. I didn't think these were made as recently as then. Only one bit (a sanding drum) but it does have all three chucks as well as the wrench. Works great. Not bad for eight bucks. 5

Next to my Rambler it looks tiny. Our Big Lots closed a few months ago and there is an Ollies banner over the door, but so far no signs of life. There is one about an hour away, but the one time I went they only had a couple of 1/32 cars and some assorted sci-fi stuff. I can't wait to get one closer.
wrenchr Posted Monday at 12:55 AM Posted Monday at 12:55 AM A few old built kits my brother gave me. He bought them built. Someone made a goldenhawk I think from the AMT studebaker kit. 3
oldcarfan Posted Monday at 02:43 AM Posted Monday at 02:43 AM I stopped at HobbyTown again not really planning to get anything, but they'd just gotten this Lexus in and the price was too good to turn down. I'm going back and forth between a stock build and a lowered VIP style tuner. Also picked up the Hot Wheels Dajiban. Sure wish someone did a 1994 SWB conversion for AMT venerable Dodge Van kit. And finally, Fia my spokes-model had to pose for a picture. 3

Next to my Rambler it looks tiny. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was a bit smaller than 1/25, even some styrene kits aren't accurate. I have quite a few printed kits in my stash and only a few of them scale out perfectly to 1/25. The remainder are mostly 1/26 and maybe a hair smaller than that even. I collect primarily full sized cars built factory stock, so having a big Cad or Imperial scale out a bit smaller is ok with me. Personally I'd much rather have them 1/26 than closer to 1/24. If all body dimensions are scaled correctly, just a bit small, I'm ok with that especially considering all these printed kits I have (and will get) are subjects I can't get in styrene. Beggars can't be choosy I guess. 1

FoMoCo66 Posted Monday at 11:54 PM Posted Monday at 11:54 PM Got a 66 annual falcon, I've been searching for this kit for a while. Our fellow member Khils traded me this kit and I can't thank him enough. It's in great condition and he even threw in some extra wheels and tires to help with the car I want to replicate. 5

A modeler named mike Posted Tuesday at 04:03 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:03 AM Today, I was surprised by a member of the forum that bought this kit and had it sent to me jokingly, because I mentioned that I probably wouldn't buy it due to its unrealness. Now that I have it, it's actually pretty cool. Now I am going to have to break down and buy it's sister kit the Groovy Grader. 😏 as I said before, one can never have enough show rods! 2 2
Mike C Posted Tuesday at 03:58 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:58 PM I just got this kit from my model club's monthly raffle. I have an autographed postcard that I of the car from Dyno Don Nicholson that I got from him at the NY Auto Show when I was about 14. He was autographing them and handing them out to fans. So whenever I build the kit I will display the postcard with it. I knew I kept that postcard for some reason. I don't even remember if I ever had this kit when I was a kid. 5
