NYLIBUD
There’s a car show that’s held at a local church every Tuesday.Hundreds of cars show up, depending on the weather.Well,I just found out that sometime during the hours of the show yesterday, which is usually 5pm-9,somebody broke in and robbed at least 8 money boxes.IDK how much was taken.Obviously there’s going to be an investigation by the police, but also the guys who put on the show....I mean come on, who the heck robs a church??? Tom Geiger
Overnight some neighborhood jerks tossed my lawn furniture into my pool. And the tossed my trash pail full of lawn debris in too. The furniture is bad enough since they did toss it in the deep end, but now the pool is full of leaves and weeds. Not fun. I reported it to the police and have sent it to my neighborhood email chain. The last time we had an incident, it resulted in a father dragging two boys to my front door to apologize. No doubt neighborhood kids. Little felons! cobraman
Around here we have the little angels checking for open car doors if your car is on the street or in the drive. Lots of pics of these angles from homeowners cameras but police have not caught many. I keep both our vehicles in the garage so we have not had that problem. crazyjim
Had my first flat tire on Saturday. Looks like I rolled over a piece of ceramic tile in a parking lot. It was a gash and not a hole so I bought a new tire yesterday. Then today I went to work in the yard and discovered a flat tire on my 2 wheel wheelbarrow. Looks like the tire just wore out. Prices for a replacement range $40 - $50. I can get a new one for $100. Looks like a trip to Tractor Supply on Friday or Saturday.

peter31a
Yes, we're all different. Love summer, heat and all even if I don't tolerate as well as I used to. Winter is 10 months, I'll happily take the little 2 months of summer heat we get.

espo
The ambient temperatures are in the mid to high 90's but at least the humidity is still only in the mid 70%'s. = heat index of 108+ till Saturday. I'm hoping the Jet Stream drops a little south.
espo
I fell while putting down Weed & Feed in the back yard yesterday. We have a pretty good slope in one area and the grass was wet and the leg with the bad knee went under me and my other leg went the other way so I'm doing the splits and sliding down the hill in the wet grass and trying to catch my self while falling I jam my right hand into the raised planters I built years ago. The walls are made out of 6" by 8" blocks and I jammed the ring finger on my right hand to the point that the end of it was hanging at an odd angle and the nail is bleeding profusely. I went to the Care Center this morning and the good news I managed to not break anything. They X-Rayed the finger and the Doctor thinks I may have damaged the Tendon in the finger and has a Hand Specialist that is supposed to look at it. There is very little pain and the nail is all that is really sore. I think it is amazing how one little miss step in the yard can turn your whole day upside down. NYLIBUD
Welp it happened again for about the fifth or sixth time, where our Tuesday car show is cancelled.Too much rain last night and this morning flooded parts of the parking lot.A couple of weeks ago, they tried cleaning out the sewer drains, but obviously that’s not the only issue. Its also because the lot is old and has a lot of dips and is really not completely flat.So there goes another show, down the tubes.Lol

Summer in NYC sucks because the glass buildings reflect sunlight making it hotter, all of the concrete and asphalt absorbs heat and increases the temps drastically. Anyone who says they like summers in NYC is lying, crazy or both. And, all of you guys who live/moved to places like the Deep South or Southwest: don't tell me that the triple digit temps don't bother you. I always heard from people who moved to those places from the New York area did it because they couldn't deal with the cold. What do they do during the summer in the Land of the Sun and other picture postcards from Hell? Stay at home with the air conditioners running at maximum, meat locker levels because it's too friggin' hot to go outside.
crazyjim
No storm or inclement weather last night but we lost power for 7 hours.
Tom Geiger
The photo is from New Jersey yesterday, the thermometer actually got up to 103 and it was like standing in a pizza oven. Then a storm blew in early evening. One wind gust actually moved a huge gas grill! Fortunately no damage at my daughter’s house, they did lose a huge tree in last week’s storm. Surrounding towns weren’t as lucky. Lotsa damage, large trees into houses and across roads, tons of power lines down too. Many people we know still don’t have power. Fortunately no injuries reported. It’s in the 70s today, quite a pleasure after the 100 plus temperatures

I have always hated July and August weather here in Tennessee. I never thought Chicago Summer's was bad.

Yeah, but you can put on more clothes and stay warm. I still haven't been able to take off enough to stay cool.
