Rodent Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Last Tuesday, I saw an older Bluebird school bus that had been tarted up and converted into a motor home. Behind it on a dolly was a bright green (think Sassy Grass) 2CV. Definitely not something that you see every day. Yesterday, a very nice 58 Mercury and an extremely nice 35 Ford V8 pickup. Ford was on the freeway, probably topped out at around 55 mph, lol.
jefropas Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 A silver 2002 Honda CBR 600 doing 122 mph in a 55mph zone....I got him...he wasn't happy....;)Jeff

stitchdup Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 I've never seen one of these! Nice, the 4 wheel drive version too
PatW Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 I've seen (no camera with me at the time) quite a few new Jaguar 4X4's and two McLaren 570S supercars, but we are just 5 miles from Silverstone so it's not surprising!
MrObsessive Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 A couple days ago, I was behind this vehicle on my way home, and I have NO idea what it's supposed to be! It was mighty tall though, and I'm sure if I was driving my old MG, I could have driven right underneath of it! This was one of the few times I had my phone right beside me while driving, so I was able to snap this photo right quick! Any guesses what this is? Looks like some kind of construction vehicle, but I don't know for what.

A friend owns one, up by Lansing.

Ahhh OK! Makes sense! There is farmland not far from where the pic was taken, it's just the first I've seen/noticed one of those driving on a regular road. I can tell you that other cars certainly made room for him as he was trying to turn those corners!
Rob Hall Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Makes sense...I think I've seen them in use in farming areas in California and Ohio in the past.
1930fordpickup Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 These came around awhile back and the two big Co-Op's elevators have several. We see them very often around here.Rob the farmers here do not not call them a tractor just a sprayer. Here is a link to what they use when no crops are in the field. https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=P%2fKnMMqa&id=AEBEB57A2F9823338F250FE41FE04575A58A8A72&thid=OIP.P_KnMMqaAef0NCR2k3uciwEsDh&q=three+wheel+sprayers&simid=608018867810798463&selectedIndex=0&qpvt=three+wheel+sprayers&ajaxhist=0
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 I have a blue CAV GT40 replica in the shop, as of today, with electrical problems. Some days I really love my work.
Xingu Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 I seriously looked into building a GT40 kit car some years ago. Would of cost me about $160k to do it like I wanted. Not a chance I could afford it. Not a chance I would do it unless it was exactly how I wanted it. Now, I don't think I could get in and out of one. If I remember correctly, electrical problems require a lot of test drives.
Dodge Driver Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Got behind this vehicle yesterday morning (internet photo).
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 If I remember correctly, electrical problems require a lot of test drives. Absolutely...and when the customer was there yesterday, I noticed the throttle plates are only coming about 2/3 open with the pedal on the floor. This will certainly HAVE to be investigated thoroughly.

Back in the late 1980s, my fleet services company / restoration shop was doing very well, and I was on the short list for an English-built Safir GT40 "continuation" car. At the time, I had a block of Eastern Airlines stock, and stupidly held on until it became worthless, figuring the airline would pull out and survive in spite of all the dire forecasts. That was the end of the GT40 dream. Yesterday, I had a little less-than-nimble time getting in and out of the car, and remarked that if I could afford the thing, I'd gladly lose 40 pounds so I wouldn't look like such an old fool.
Tom Geiger Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 At the time, I had a block of Eastern Airlines stock, and stupidly held on until it became worthless, figuring the airline would pull out and survive in spite of all the dire forecasts. I took the long ride down with General Motors!
crazyjim Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 I went from Western Electric to AT&T to Lucent Technologies. Instead of pay increases Lucent gave out stock. It split 2 for 1 at least twice. So I'm sitting there with a ton of Lucent stock and decided to sell it all in 1999 and buy a 2000 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide. Paid cash for that puppy. The "experts" at work told me not to sell. I ended up with a new bike and they ended up with toilet paper. So much for experts.
forthlin Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 A 2 seater '69 Chevelle. The whole car was shortened.
Tom Geiger Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 I was cruising... okay I was cruising through the old cars on my local Craig's List and came across an ad for an El Camino. First thing I noticed was that the idiot drilled holes in the hood to put this silly swan hood ornament on it.... I shrugged and moved on. Then I get to the next ad and guess what? Another Elkie with a friggin swan hood ornament! Now let's repeat that FOUR more times. Imagine some guy with a collection of SIX El Caminos each with the hood drilled for that same silly ornament?? And now he wants to sell them.. six ads each with a single car.
KWT Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Pulled into my drummers house for practice tonight, and see this in the drive way... It belongs to his wife... Her father was restoring this to give to her, and a Roadrunner for her brother, when he past last year... She finally decided it was time to bring it home. It's a beauty and sounds mean...
