89AKurt Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Does a Cars & Coffee count? I see most pictures the cars are parked somewhere, all these drove to the parking lot. Buick Riviera. Porsche 914-V8 MG with V8. And......

I believe I read somewhere that what we have here is closer to the true color of the "hero car". It was assumed to be red but that didn't photograph well in B&W film. You are correct in the color: here is picture from the set in Kinsman Ohio greg
GeeBee Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Not exactly "On the Road " but it's not every day you spot a British Army Daimler Ferret, it was outside the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum
OldNYJim Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Not sure what year this is, my truck knowledge isn’t too hot, but this was nice and clean and caught my eye today!

Based on the appearance of the top of the Dashboard going all the way across at the same level I would say it's a '65 or newer year model. Very nice looking truck that someone has taken care of.
Earl Marischal Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 (edited) Haven’t seen one of these in years. Not common in the UK! Colour suits it. Can anyone provide a year? Thanks steve Edited August 22, 2020 by Earl Marischal
TarheelRick Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Standing on the front porch yesterday talking with friends and a red 68 Impala drop-top drove by. A couple out enjoying the breeze in their face.

Thanks steve I'm no expert but I think that's a 1972 Mk IV. Opera windows, vinyl top! Hopefully it has the crushed velour upholstery. Just screams '70s kitsch. Probably diesels when you shut it off when its hot. That's very well cared for. You don't see them present that nicely even in its homeland.
Rob Hall Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Yes, Lincoln Mark IV, specifically a '72 because of the small bumpers that fit tight at the corners. ''73 went to a big federal bumper up front, added a rub strip to the rear bumper, and '74-76 had big bumpers in the rear also.
Earl Marischal Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Thanks chaps! It’s enormous by our standards. ? steve

I wanted a better look at that car...who knew I could post a not very good photo of it on here and someone would recognize it! Thanks buddy!
Phildaupho Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 I had never seen an Alfa Romeo SZ in the flesh before yesterday. I did not have a chance to take a photo so this image is off the web. I assume this belongs to a local guy who has imported a number of cool looking Alfa sports cars that were never sold new in North America. These SZ's have a stubby tough look. If they were dogs they would be Bulldogs.
espo Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 Something about the "puckered mouth" look of the Alfa's just look interesting and unique, much like the earlier BMW grills.

Well Phil, in now way my post was meant as competition (but to share). I feel lucky to have been present at these events and see these strangely wonderfull cars! My country doesn't come straight to mind when thinking about a place with some great auto culture, but it's there!

I really appreciated seeing your post. I hope I get a chance to have a closer look at the local Alfa SZ as I was intrigued with these cars by a magazine article when they were first introduced. Alfa Romeo cars are again available in Canada after many years out of this market. Your country certainly has produced some great racing car drivers and has a legendary Grand Prix circuit which unfortunately was not able to rejoin the F1 schedule this year due to the pandemic. I can only think of two cars from the Netherlands - the Daf which was the first to utilize the constantly variable transmission which is now very widely used and the Spyker which once owned the F1 team which I believe is now known as Racing Point.
Rob Hall Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Never seen one of those Alfas, but I do have the Matchbox version.
Mike999 Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Coming home just a little while ago, an old-school Baja Bug was in front of me. (Never mind that we're 3,000 miles from the Baja.) It was painted Flat Olive Drab and had all the traditional goodies: bobbed fenders/no running boards, exposed engine with chrome exhaust, big knobby tires and a roof rack carrying a spare tire.
