Brian Austin Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Driving along a highway just south of Boston, I saw a regular small sedan of some sort off the right-hand shoulder missing a front wheel. Then up the road a little I spotted a wheel against the left-hand barrier, missing a car. That must've been one scary ride.
Roger U Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 (edited) i went to Green Hills cemetery in San Pedro last Saturday and this was parked there. Kind of unusual, no one was nearby or showed any interest while I was looking at it. Edited November 14, 2023 by Roger U 2

espo Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Went shopping with my wife yesterday in a high-end shopping mall, we were the only ones wearing blue jeans. Parked next to a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is the first one I have even seen with a simulated wood side trim. The trim around the simulated wood trim moldings looked to be some sort of trim with a wood texture on it and the center section look much like the "shelf paper woody" trim of old. Looked like a dealer add on to me. Who would pay $70k plus for a new car and put this cheap looking trim on it.?

1930fordpickup Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 Stopped at the Local Grocery store and a 28/29 2 door sedan was pulling out. A very nice older restoration. A lady told me it was the Mechanic driving the car to get the bugs worked out for the owner.

Rob Hall Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 (edited) I was on the road today in this…drove my ‘87 Mustang GT 100 miles home from the shop. Turned 65k miles today. Drove great..(drove it throughout the 1990s).. Had been stored at my family farm for 20 years and driven very little over the last 20 years. Got it home in time to store for winter. Put in a couple favorite CDs from the 90s to listen to--Pink Floyd's 'The Division Bell' and Pearl Jam's 'Vs'. I felt 25 again... Edited November 18, 2023 by Rob Hall 3

I know there are molds of the BM floating around, as well as unauthorized full replicas. Possibly somebody took a BM repop and turned it back into a Futura look-alike. Pretty cool if they did. 1

That tv show on netflix that liked to use their waterjet for everybit of trim had the molds to a futura body. It and another concept copy were some of the few decent cars on the entire show. most were shoddy work with bad joins, dodgy welding and various other flaws not even mentioning the lack of concern for body lines. I think the main guy must have worked for george barris before tv 1
RSchnell Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 The vintage tin & fiberglass was out in full force today, but only managed to get a couple pics of this Westfalia while out running errands.

I dont think I've seen a bay window with colour matched wheels before. It makes it look completely different, in a good way

As others have said, there are several repops around.

carrucha Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Yesterday I went to Stevens Creek Chevrolet to buy a headlamp bulb for my 2014 Impala. The dealership had a 1953 or 1954 Corvette in the lobby. Pretty cool. I have never seen a 1953 or 1954 Corvette up close.

When I enlarge it as much as I can on the phone, under the C in California it says CHEV The longer line of type is very hard to read but looks like it shows vehicle ID number and an expiration date. Wish the owner would have been close by so I could have asked about it.
