Fantastic artwork...

Thanks Carl!   The past several years we have hired  known automotive artists to create unique artwork.   This year we have Jimmy Flintstone and here's the rest of the series...

And we kicked it off with Trosley in 2015

The response has been great.  We sell out our t-shirts every year!

Heineken beer has finally (as far as I know) made a 0.0% (no alcohol) beer.:D:D:D

Heineken was my favorite beer back when I drank . Been drinking O'douls, not bad, but I kept saying I wish Heineken would do an alcohol free beer. Went to Walmart to pick up some duct tape and there it was.

Sometimes you just need the taste of a good beer.

Drove Dad down to see the Local Hockey Team. The Toledo Walleye. They beat the Fort Wayne Comet's 11 to 0.  They scored 6 goals in the 2nd period (a record) and Dad was smiling the whole time. His Memory is fading and the later he is up it is worse. Tonight was a good night with his memory.

We had a great day and terrific turnout for the FAST contest held with the Billetproof show at the Garlits museum yesterday and then another great day today for a model display at the Manatee show put on by the Citrus County Cruisers.  Sunny and 80 both days.  Tomorrow is rest.

Watched "Gran Prix" on TCM channel yesterday. Movie was great but the best part was my wife, who is not a car or racing fan, watched the whole 3 hours with me. Maybe it was James Garner, I'm not sure.

I'm on the committee at the office for giving back to the community.  One of the new additions for this year saw a flier for a local organization that takes the plastic grocery bags and makes mats for homeless and they are distributed locally.  A box was placed in the office outside the first floor break/vending area.  I saw the lady who suggested this and told her I know it's been emptied several times, but then she shared....she's empties the 4'x2'x'2 box EIGHT times.  Wow......I know we all have that stash of bags, but when asking 130 people of mostly young people, I didn't expect that!  We're collecting them through tomorrow (it was available all month)

HR sent out the pic of dropping off the six contractor sized trash bags of these little bags.  It takes a 1,000 bags to make one mats and apparently the donation was enough to make at least a dozen mats.  It was one of those odd moments where you think 'wow' but also the realization that we're serious packrats we donated THAT many bags in just one month of accumulating them!

While I personally applaud anything that will keep these plastic bags out of the land fills or worse our oceans. I think the biggest problem starts at the retail level were the put one or two items in each plastic bag. If you don't already have a personal cloth bags or two please consider it. At the market they use several plastic bags for the same number of items that used to go into paper bags. I can put over $100 worth of groceries in two or no more than three of our cloth bags and then only the product packaging goes to the land fill.

Dealership finished the mechanical repairs on my 200 yesterday and I was able to pick it up last night after work. They ended up replacing the steering rack (gears innside were shattered!), tie rod ends, nuts, and clockspring in the column, which cost more than the rack after the core charge was factored into that part! The insurance picked up all $2200+ dollars of that repair too, which is almost what I paid for my '85 Lebaron GTS when I bought it in '95, and not much more than a year of liability insurance on that car for an 18 year old too<_<

Now I just need to get the bodywork done and already have a new gas door on order since the hinge for that was giving up over a year ago and figure now would be a good time to pay to have that, the back d/s door ding and left front corner damage fixed. All the damage is on that side if they have to blend for the crash damage, this just makes sense.

Did the accident mess up your steering? I would want that fixed at the dealership myself.

Yup, when she slid into me I had the steering at full right lock and she caught the left front wheel and tire before hitting the sheetmetal and the shock from that is what took out the gears, figured the TRE's and related nuts were a "better safe than sorry" measure. The clockspring in the column was damaged when I tried to curb park it before realizing the steering wasn't working and overextended the wiring in it. I was thinking the same on having the dealer fix that, especially with the car having the "MaxCare Lifetime Warranty on it", better that they do the work with the right parts and have a record of it vs a body shop that might be strongarmed into an el-cheapo repair.

I finished up my '50 Ford pickup today!   I will debut it at the Philly NNL tomorrow!  Come on out to the show, it's at the Simeone Museum which is worth the trip all by itself!

And say hello, I will be there helping so I shouldn't be hard to find!

What pleased me was that I was able to install a new center console in my police intercepter Crown Vic.Easy as anything.Just pulled out the old one,and re drilled my new one in,1,2,3.And a friend of mine, and myself were able to install a lower front chin spoiler, which I really think beefs up the front end.First we drilled the holes on the chin spoiler, then lined it up,and used self tapping screws that I bought. We just went along, drilling every foot or so.We used about 10 self tapping screws. We also put on a double sided tape small spoiler, right above the rear window. So everything went on perfect. And that never happens.Plus it was only about 30 degrees out.

Trip to Sedona was great ! Saw something odd while taking a trolly tour. Saw what was said to be the only McDonalds in the US that does not have golden arches. Due to color restrictions they could not use gold. Went to court 3 times and lost each time. In the end McDonalds chose turquoise as their arches color.

Interesting...didn't know that. I drove by it every time I was in Sedona but never noticed the arches.

My wife, sister and I am leaving this morning to spend the weekend in Sedona. I love it there.

Nice place and I wouldn't mind stopping back there again.

I saw something about that on YouTube, I think in a video from Adam the Woo or Justin Scared when one of them went there.  The city will only allow southwestern appropriate coloring on the businesses there, so that is the only McDonalds in at least the U.S., if not the world that you'll find that doesn't follow the corporate color scheme.

Ordering quite a bit of stuff from Amazon and getting more deliveries next day.  Got a couple well within 24 hours. Far cry from the olden days of mailing in an order and waiting 4 to 6 weeks with no tracking whatsoever. A voice command to Google, a click on an Amazon listing and one click ordering makes it possible to have my order placed and get an email confirmation within 60 seconds.
