ksnow Posted July 1, 2022 Posted July 1, 2022 Not today, but last Saturday I got the chance to pull a 36,000 pound fire truck during a strongman training day. What a blast. Definitely a great time. 1
Snake45 Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 FINALLY received my replacement credit card in the mail. Validated it and then updated my payment information for AOL, eBay, and the airgun vendor where I have a pending order. Should probably do Amazon, too, while I'm thinking of it. There will be others to do as time goes on, I'm sure.

As you know, there's lots of people out there who would like to have that information for nefarious reasons and if you send me the number I will be better able to keep an eye on your account in case of any fraudulent actions on said card. Remember this is in YOUR best interest and I'm only looking out for you, the consumer. Thank you very mich stev. 1 2

Turns out it was a double shipment, the requested shipment was received last week. Now those 20 pallets line the hallway, as they try to figure out what to do! Wow! Did t realize it was that long ago! Pallets are still in the hallway and in the fricken way if my construction deliveries! Half joking I told their guy that they need to dust those boxes once in a while!

iamsuperdan Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 My new truck is finally in my driveway. 2022 F150 Lariat with the PowerBoost hybrid engine. Went with the 2.4kW built-in generator too. 3" levelling lift kit, upgraded to Duratrac tires, full 3m stoneguard wrap on the front end and mirror caps, added an ARE canopy and some Yakima roof racks. Putting all of that to good use next week on a roadtrip to the west coast of Vancouver Island. Ordered March 27th. So just over 3 months, which is about what it would take for orders to arrive in the before times.
Snake45 Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 (edited) This morning when I got up I went out to the garage to have my first smoke of the day. Noticed that my trash man's truck was on the street, thought that was pretty late for him. Ten minutes later he was STILL there, so I went out to check on him (being a recent stroke survivor). He was okay but had a flat tire, and turns out he'd been sitting there for about 2 hours. He couldn't have had it at a better spot--I just happened to have a small, portable compressor and a long extension cord. We got him pumped up and on his way in about 15 or 20 minutes. It felt great to be the one in the position to GIVE some desperately needed help, for a change. Edited July 7, 2022 by Snake45 4

John M. Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 (edited) The last of the 20 plus decommissioned school buses that my boss was going to have scraped was hauled awat this morning. There's now more parking space available for the other buses that are still in service and for the personal vehicles of the drivers. Before, it was a nightmare. Edited July 8, 2022 by John M.

MrMiles Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 my wife told me a story about a former coworker of hers today. the coworker was only there a couple of weeks because she was horrible. however, the funny thing is, my wife actually caught her laying on her desk taking a picture of herself during the middle of work. nothing says hard worker like a selfie of you laying on your desk
HomerS Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 An EF2 tornado did some major damage in a small town NE of Cincinnati. One of the local new stations sent their evening anchors out the next day to broadcast from the area and solicit donations. As the female reporter went on about things to donate like water, non perishable food items, diapers, etc, the male reporter talked about how hot is was the day before when the tornado his (heat index in some areas hit 111 degrees). She picked up where she left off on her list of donatable items and mentioned window air conditioners.....without missing a beat, the male reporter said "they have no electric!" OOPS!! And a quick cutaway to a field reporter. Hopefully the camera man kept it rolling behind the scenes. I was impressed ODOT had slapped snow plows on the dumps trucks as there was a great number of trees clogging the roads and within hours were out there. Cinergy staged at a nearby mall and had over 80% of the power restored in 24 hours.

Bills72sj Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 Took my Grand Prix to a second car show this Summer. Haven't been to one in 3 years (Covid). It was a beautiful day, I got to sit under a tree so as not to get sunburnt. Spent all day sharing the killer stereo via iPad and bluetooth. I let a number of 20-30 year olds sit in the car with it cranked. Everyone of them were impressed. Feels good to get out and have some Summer fun again.

espo Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 This is why we need someone to issue a model of a Grand Prix.
