Offered and closed on the second place she/they looked at. 40 grand under their budget in Lincoln Park, Chicago. Congrats! We went with my daughter to see a house on Sunday morning. It had just been listed on Saturday and had an open house on Sunday. We thought there wouldn't be a lot of people because it was Father's Day, but we were wrong. All kinds of people looking! It was just an older ranch with small bedrooms and a bad family room addition. They put in a bid $2000 OVER list price. Today they find that there are SIX contracts for the house. And it wasn't even a great house!
426 pack Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 (edited) Today I started un-painting my lawnmower, wiring in brake lights and finishing up my steering. Next step is working signal lights. I also fixed my mig welder. Edited June 20, 2018 by 426 pack

smhardesty Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 I recorded all the Barrett Jackson shows to watch at my leisure. I watched the first 3 hours just a few hours ago. Did any of you guys happen to catch the beautiful, black '65 Barracuda sell? It was just about 30 minutes in. It was a numbers matching, all original, 45,000 miles car with a 273 and a Carter AFB. It only brought $14,500. I know it's a 1st generation A-body, but I just figured it would bring over $20K.
crazyjim Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Watched just a few minutes last night when a completely reworked '67 Nova was on the block. It brought over $200K. Whew.
Joe Handley Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 The Jeep is behaving so far on the drives I've taken it on, think I may want to at least put a new thermostat in it before winter though.....
mikemodeler Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Decided to channel more energy into modelbuilding, so won't be around as much, should be good therapy.
426 pack Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 I finally got my mower done. now if everything stays together I should be driving it in the Canada day parade tomorrow.

James2 Posted July 1, 2018 Author Posted July 1, 2018 I'm glad to see this thread still going. Now if it would only out post the negative thread...
Rodent Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Escaped the triple digit heat at home and currently living like a 1%er on the coast. Good friends, good food, great wine. Going to watch fireworks in the fog tonight.
426 pack Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 (edited) Technically this was yesterday but I’m happy that my mower survived the Canada day parade and got a lot of attention in the Canada day car show. Edited July 2, 2018 by 426 pack

High octane Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Went to a cruise night on this beautiful evening at it was a great time with lots of cars, good friends, a band playin' some good tunes, food, temps, etc. I'm lookin' for several more good nights like tonight this summer.
Rob Hall Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 Had a really fun evening. Went out in the woods to Blossom Music Center amphitheater to see Roger Daltrey and the Cleveland Orchestra perform The Who rock opera 'Tommy'. Great weather.
mikemodeler Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 Went for a short drive yesterday with the wife and wanted to see what new shopping center is under construction (because you can never have enough retail outlets!) and lo and behold, there will be a new Hobby Lobby within 10 miles of my house later this year. Sure hope the wife doesn't get any crazy ideas about us shopping together there, then she will know how much I spend on model kits!
martinfan5 Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 The refund from the Chinese Ebay seller came through today, that pleased me .
