This little guy pleased me this morning....... We have a prickly Holly tree at the end of the building here. The Mocking Birds put a nest there a couple years ago. Pretty brilliant place to put the nest, as nothing wants to climb through holly leaves to get to them. Anyway, they're out fledgling about this morning!

Nope...... I just left it alone. I saw it hopping around here most of that morning, I'm sure it's doing fine!

I just found a newly opened hobby shop just a couple of miles from my house. The shop is mainly an RC shop, but he does have supplies/paints,etc,and a decent selection of models.I think i’ll be going back to buy an RC truck/or Jeep. He’s got literally hundreds of RC parts, drag cars, and off-road vehicles.??

Nice find TJ.

There was a robins nest inside my pole building garage (no door). They made it on the top of a pallet that is leaning against one wall. There were 4 young'uns in it. Last weekend I found one on the ground, same as the one you found, and three still in the nest. They were all gone this morning so they must have taken flight. The nest is empty now. I believe robins abandon the nest after the little ones have left.

I'm surprised they weren't snake food. There are some black snakes around here.

Yea, there are snakes here too...... That was one concern that I had, but these little birds are fiesty! I've seen momma birds chase off crows, vultures, snakes, anything in their territory....... I'm sure they looked out for their young just fine.

I had a robins nest in a light on my side porch last year. A black snake had crawled up the wall, across the top of the doorway and it's head was on the mount for the light. It was about 8 inches from the young birds when I caught it. I doubt the mama bird would'a been able to stop it. I caught 5 snakes last year. 4 were after the birds in this nest the other was after a nest in the roof of my garage which is right near the side porch. The one going up the garage had to be 6 feet long. Of the other 4 one was about 2-1/2 feet long, and it was the most feisty, and the others were 3 feet and longer.

Then again, I like non venomous snakes too.

This is the one trying to go up the garage:

And this is one that was after the nest in the light:

Might be the same one judging by the length you can see. Beautiful snake(s) though.

My new truck has a firm build date now. :)

Order 2.JPG

And for those hearing all the doom and gloom about vehicle supply, note that I placed this order on April 27, it is building June 11, so should arrive here in Canada by the end of June. So roughly 9 - 10 weeks for arrival. That's what delivery times were like when things were normal. :)

Second last day of school for my son so I grabbed a gift card for Lowes yesterday.  One of the teachers is out there every morning (no matter the weather) directing traffic as well as making sure the kids don't splattered as they walk across the drive lane as they don't look up from their phones.  I rolled in this a.m. and put the window down handing him an envelope telling him I appreciate what he does and that it takes brass ones to this every day.  I'm sure he wasn't expecting it.

My late father did that at the elementary school (before the city built a new all-in-one school).  He made it a couple years and very few even took the time to thank him.  He had two conversations with the police that they asked him to not come back the following year.  First one, traffic was backed up in the L shaped bend.  Cops told him he needed to speed things up.  Dad pointed out if the guard at the intersection at the far end of the drive stops traffic for every kid instead of having them wait ten seconds for another kid, there is no place for the cars TO go.  Second was someone backed into a sign post bending.  Cops were grumpy that he didn't see who hit it.  Dad told them it was more important that the kids running across the road then a replaceable post.

Just had the trusty 97 Honda Accord in the shop today for a routine oil change and tire rotation and have a very annoying squeak in the driver's side rear door taken care off. And the bill was quite reasonable.

With car running like a champ, a lady friend and I will be heading to a couple of flea markets on Sunday in New Hampshire just to get out for awhile. She likes deals as I do. I scored a couple of plastic "Diamonds In The Rough" at one of the flea markets awhile back and for dirt cheap.

Roads were quiet - very little traffic, stores quiet, weather is great in the mid 80s. Went to cemetery to place flag on my dad's grave since the Legion didn't plant one. Came to find out why.... Darn flag holder was hidden in tall grass. Cemetery hasn't been mowed yet. Hopefully by next weekend when I can plant flowers on my parents' grave.

I'll bring my weedwacker just in case. LOL!!

My son made Memorial Day dinner of turkey burgers and chicken burgers on the grill. I cooked salt potatoes and broccoli and the missus cleaned up. We're heading out for ice cream later tonight.

Ordered a replacement canopy for my outdoor swing and should be in by the end of the week.

Oh yeah... I'm also off from work tomorrow and have plans to head out to Syracuse area to a LHS to pick up some supplies. ?

Too bad the missus and son have to work tomorrow. ROFL!!!

Didn't please me but gave me a chuckle. In my spam folder I had a email from "Westan Unionr". You know if you're going to send phishing emails spelling does count.

But it's amazing what people fall for!  My wife had me watch a Dr Phil where a lady in her 70s was scammed by a guy in Nigeria out of over a million dollars... even sold her house and sent him the proceeds!

That's very sad. My BIL (78) was scammed out of 15,500 bucks.  He claims he got most of it back. He told us about the loss but he has still not disclosed what he did to lose that much.

I took my 7 year old grandson to a San Diego Model Expo this weekend. He enjoyed looking at the models, but most of all, he got to sit in the pilot seat of a training cockpit for a Boeing 377. He didn't know what anything did, but it was the coolest thing ever. As for me, I have to admire the crews of those aircraft. There are a lot of moving parts to keep track of.

Every week I order soup for lunches from Walmart website. I usually buy for 1 week but I decided to buy for 2 weeks

Anyway my order came yesterday and it looked like so many but my lunch break was almost over so I put it away and didn't think about it again.

Then I received an email saying that the last part of my order was coming today and I knew something was wrong.

I counted my soups and found they gave me more than double what I ordered and more was coming today.

I went to the Walmart customer service chat and explained I would pay for the extra cans because I didn't want to go to the store to return it. He told me to keep them and they would not charge me. I have over a months worth of lunches now
