ianguilly Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 A little over a month ago came across this original 1970 mpc charger that was built up to look like a general Lee wannabe. For $10.00 I couldn't pass it up. It has since had a roadrunner chassis, engine bay,and tires pot on. It isn't a show winner but it looks way better than it did a few months ago. Here's the starting point. And the final product
TooOld Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Very nice , your version definitely looks much better !
donb Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Very nice , your version definitely looks much better ! Oh yeah I agree with that! Nice!
satterwhite78 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 The Mopar Gods approve of your styrene intervention.
'70 Grande Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) Beautiful save and restoration! I think you can find the 1:1 version of this same car on the front cover of the November 2014 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines magazine, except that 1:1 has a White vinyl roof and facory luggage rack on its trunk lid. According to that article, this color combination of Sublime with a White interior was getting quite rare on 1970 Chargers. Edited September 29, 2014 by '70 Grande

ianguilly Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 I'll probably have to pick up that issue love these chargers.
Bob Ellis Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 The Roadrunner chassis is the way to go.
tubbs Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 the re-build is almost as good as finding an original MPC 70 Charger for $10 !!! looks great!
JTalmage Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Looks good. Some better pictures and adding a brake booster/master cylinder would bring it over the top.
