I like it a lot, congratulations. Do they make a pistol grip for the automatic shift handle?

I dunno.........that would be cool to see though! If not MOPAR then perhaps an aftermarket outfit.

I think Mopar has a couple Pistol Grip and I know they offer a T-Handle shifters, my Sister's R/T Classic has one of those!

As for the Pentastar, my 200 has one that's about 20hp shy of Bill's.......more than enough power.......in a good way!!!!!

Nice! Enjoy it, Bill. I'm a big fan of the new Challenger (I love "retro" styling)... and those wheels are absolutely beautiful! They would have sold me on the car, too!

I wonder if you can get to San Francisco by 12 tomorrow afternoon...

That made me laugh out loud. I wonder how many of the younger members won't get that joke though.

Cool car.

Very cool Bill. I'm glad you got a car with personality, and not another appliance. Your a car guy. You should drive something cool. (And so should I. Someday.) I like it.

Very nice purchase..If its a 2011 it will have the Pentastar V6 3.6 and if its 2010 or older it will have the 3.5..Both are very peppy and will get decent gas mileage if you don't drive it like you stole it..I had a 2010 3.5 demo that I got about 32-35 mpg on the highway trips I took from Winnipeg to Minneapolis Mn..It was comfortable but you didn't want to be sitting in the back seat...I really didn't care about the back seat because I sit behind the wheel..Like your car and the wheels really set it off..Nice...

Your newer Challenger will last you a long time as long as you change your oil/filter every 3000 miles(I do every 5000 km) You can use Synthetic oil but continue every 3000 even though they say you can go longer..I've been driving since 1964 and have never put synthetic oils in any of my cars..My 426 Street Wedge 64 Plymouth I put in 10/40 and never drive it past end of October..It gets cold and miserable in Winnipeg Canada in the winter..Enjoy your car and WELCOME back to the family...

Bill, if you have your own health insurance from work, have your agent remove the medical provision from your car insurance. It's redundant and it will be better to use your own. You will get lower rates if you remove the medical.

Congratulations, you are going to love this car. The chassis is a shortened Charger and everything else is very similar also. I have always been a GM type, but after the Feb. '14 when we got my wife a '14 Dodge Avenger RT we are now 100% Mopar. They have come a long way and we love our '09 Jeep Wrangler and '10 Charger RT with AWD. It would be hard for me to consider any other make at this time. There are many good cars to choose from, but based on the experience we have had since the change over I just don't see anything else that fits for use.

Thanks for all the nice words and compliments fellas! :) I intend to hang on to this one for the very long haul barring nothing tragic happens to it.

One thing I meant to mention........I did call the first dealer back to let him know I appreciated his trying to sell me the other car, but that I did find what I was looking for originally, and I'm very happy with it. I got his voicemail, but I never received a call back to say thanks or anything. Just goes to show that some sales folks really are into their job (like the Challenger salesman), and some just want to put in a day's work and that's it.

I was on my way home just a bit ago, and stopped at the local gas station. A fellow who was getting in a '90's era Honda said to me "That's a VERY nice car!" He said that he rented one when he was in Arizona back when they came out in '09, and he's wanted one ever since. I thanked him for the compliment, and remembered that's how it was when I had my AMX. EVERYWHERE I went, folks would comment about the car as they weren't often seen.

That can be good or bad as there are some jealous hearts out there, but that's how it goes. ;) This fellow was a nice guy, so I didn't pick that up in him. I just know how folks can be unfortunately.

That's very interesting Gregg, I'll definitely check into that! For sure, I'll be getting rid of my current carrier before the month is through. ;)

I'm not trying to sell insurance, but I use Farmer's. They seem the best for me. The best thing is to talk with a broker. Just ask for the least in rates. Mention the medical thing as well as they will put that in as a matter of fact. Now I am not sure of your State's laws regarding this, but always ask for whatever discounts you can get, dropping medical, good driving record, no accidents for many years, et cetera.
