What?? A BLUE hemi ? With wing no less?
1972coronet replied to gtx6970's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Then there was the Jack Werst Mr. 5 & 50 "cheater" '70 Superbird , SS/EA . This car was built to go after the '70 SS-454 Chevelle convertible SS/EA champ. Just A Car Guy: the factory cheated too... Jack Werst's Super Bird, also known as the "Cheater Bird" was built specifically to take out Ray Allen, driving an LS6 Chevelle that was causing problems for Chrysler in a certain drag class. -

Wonder why the driver didn't kill the engine and/or put in neutral when he realized that the engine throttle was stuck? -

Great looking paint work and finishes. Like the added roll bar and brush guard. -
I like how you have done this mod. The stock height can be a smidgeon too high. Must remember this
-
The white and gold paint treatment is really striking looking. Like the wheels and tires as well.
-
Great looking paint finish and color choice. Like the two different top options and the wheels.

Ronnie. Buddy and Jake King all had roots in Fords before their Chrysler association But I've read numerous stories why their engines were Ford blue. -

I have been MIA for a while. The wife and I have been exploring Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Wyoming this summer and also my brand new Jeep is kicking my ………. All kinds of computer issues with it. But anyway, the modeling has not left my mind. My bench cracked right down the middle and everything rocks on the old bench top. So I bought a new bench top and a Craftsman toolbox to slide under the bench. The new bench top will be about a foot longer than the old one but hey, who doesn’t need more bench space. Gotta wait till it cools down a bit to get up to my hobby room to tear everything apart, rebuild my bench and hopefully do a better job of organizing my stuff.

It is my understanding that Buddy Martin always painted his engines Ford Blue. Do not know why but maybe in reference to his early Ford roots. -
Looking For This Chevy Van Grill
Can-Con replied to oldcarfan's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
If you can get a hold of an A-Team van it would get you pretty close. It's a GMC instead of Chevy but the bumpers, grille surround headlights would be the same. IIRC, but not sure but I think the tail lights and body side stampings are correct for the later vans as well. IF you really need the '85/'87 Chevy grille, Canuck 3-D does the pickup grille sized for the 1/25 AMY/MPC pickups and the new Revell Blazer. You could cut the grille section from the A-Team kit part and the printed part and swap them. I would think the one for the AMT kit would be the closest. -
Some really impressive stuff made in the USA comes from Motion Raceworks. It's not cheap, but it's gorgeous quality AND they get their prototypes 100% functional in reality BEFORE they commit to production. I'm using their breather/catch can setup on the Grumpy Jenkins "Signature" 750HP BBC in the high-end '66 Chevelle I'm wrapping up. This catch can... ...and these internally baffled breathers... 100% correct, but you have to CARE enough to find out what's right if you don't know, and the interwebs offer a LOT of bad information. And if you can't afford good parts...especially life-critical bits like front axles...you really shouldn't be trying to build cars. There are plenty of places on any build to save money, but low-end suspension parts made from inferior material isn't one of them. EDIT: Some of the Mopar pickups I know have forged aluminum front control arms as OEM equipment. Lowball aftermarket garbage is cast. Now THAT is scary.

Sorry Ron, not sure how I missed this. I did pickup the cross country as well, it has a much better frame without the molded on suspension and will use that kit instead. -

Revell (Monogram) 1/24th scale, 1985 Pontiac Fiero
Stef replied to Luc Janssens's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
DJ mentioned above that the recent 85 Camaro did not have chrome, confirmed here with an HPI Guy screencap. 99% certain the Revell 81 Camaro snapper never came with chrome to begin with. Also just occurred that NONE of the three Stranger Things kits had chrome! And... Revell's recent 1/16 Trans Am GTA did not have chrome, either. IIRC, the late 80s version I had featured gorgeous satin-chrome plating. Good news everyone, Revell has not bailed entirely on chrome; recent reissues of the ex-Monogram 1/12 Camaro and 1/8 Trans Am DO still have plated trees. -

I hadda do just that some 20 years ago - the throttle stuck-open on my dad's '99 Camry while he was driving ; I was the passenger. He totally froze-up, so I hadda take action -- I bumped the shifter (console auto) into Neutral, then turn-off the ignition... all with seconds to do so. We ended up crashing HARD into a lamppost - on the right-front (the side I was sitting in). Instantly, the thumb on my left hand sprung-back to my wrist as I was sucker-punched by the air bag. I ended up with a sprained thumb, cracked ribs and sternum, and abrasions on my once-flawless face ( that's also when I went bald and aged 20 years ! At least that's what I tell everyone). So, yeah... the "operator" of that 1,300hp death trap had plenty of time to bump-neutral and kill the ignition. -
Anyone have any Lennie kits to trade? Let me know and what you’d like in return. Seeking more than one! Thanks!
