  1. Despite being very close to finishing progress has stalled for the past few weeks as a problem arose after fitting the windshield. Up to this point the body had fitted onto the chassis just how it should but after fitting the windshield the front end wouldn't come down far enough, meaning that the screen was fouling the dashboard. DSCF1546 by timothy jones, on Flickr DSCF1547 by timothy jones, on Flickr This meant I had to do some serious trimming and sanding on the dash. Before: DSCF1543 by timothy jones, on Flickr After: DSCF1626 by timothy jones, on Flickr With hindsight I should have fitted the windows and checked the fit of the interior before sticking it together. The body sits a lot better now so I should have it finished in the next couple of days.
  2. Thanks Anthony. Your friend's Mustang looks great. The exhaust and wheels have been fitted. I'm not sure why the instructions said to paint the rear suspension arms silver when those at the front are black but hey ho. I don't normally do weathering but in this case I gave the underside and exhaust a black wash. DSCF1544 by timothy jones, on Flickr DSCF1543 by timothy jones, on Flickr The trim on the body has been painted and the lights and rear windows fitted. DSCF1545 by timothy jones, on Flickr Not much left to do now to gitter done.
  3. Good to see that you got the old paint off the interior. The black interior goes well with the pink paintwork. An update on my Mustang. The interior has been painted Revell Tar Black which is a very dark gray with some satin black detailing. The instrument panel decal was left on the backing paper and glued in place with the glass cover attached with Klear. 4. According to the last update I made back in September 2014 the paint is Ford Green Jade metallic. Work has recommenced by finishing the engine. DSCF1494 by timothy jones, on Flickr The master cylinder and wiper motor have been fitted to the firewall which has been glued to the interior tub. DSCF1495 by timothy jones, on Flickr More soon.
  5. Nice paintwork. I've done a few two tone paint jobs and they are a lot easier when there's a well defined demarcation line.
  6. I got the email today and although it did come as a surprise I have found the mag less interesting of late. My subscription expires in June next year so it looks like I'll be getting a few copies of FSM to fill the gap.
  7. Morris Marina if I'm not mistaken.
  8. It's the snapfast Street Fury kit. DSCF9529 by timothy jones, on Flickr The Pontiac's paint is looking good so far.
  9. I haven't posted much on here for a long while but here's something I built a couple of years ago. As it's a slammer the main emphasis would be on the paint job. I originally thought of painting it as 'Christine' but then thought of doing it as the Joker's car. The kit wheels were replaced with a set of Pegasus chrome reverse wheels and the body was painted with a combination of Amaranth purple (a 1990's Rover color) and Tamiya Candy Lime Green. 10. Great job. I look forward to the other one, especially if it has the maroon interior.
  11. Fantastic work, especially the engine bay.
  12. Great job on the little Honda and a very impressive display set up you've got there.
  13. Nice work so far. I used Hycote Amaranth plant on my AMT Street Fury and it came out well over Halfords primer. DSCF9523 by timothy jones, on Flickr
  14. Looking good. I recently rediscovered mine that I built in the late 70's.
  15. Great paintwork, that roof is a work of art.
  16. I've got more stalled builds than I know what to do with, some of them dating back to the 80's, so I'll be joining in this round with a Revell '99 Mustang SVT Cobra that I started back in May 2014. DSCF1480 by timothy jones, on Flickr I got as far as painting the body and basic engine assembly. It might not be the correct shade of green for a '99 Mustang but I like it and it's still one of the best paint jobs I've done. DSCF1481 by timothy jones, on Flickr
  17. Excellent work on the paint and I love the shifter.
  18. I'm OK with them being painted, I can always paint over them. Here's (not particularly good)a photo of the El Camino seats to give you an idea of what they look like. DSCF1453 by timothy jones, on Flickr Nice work on the tailgate, the insert piece seems to have blended in well.
  19. Looking good so far. I have both the wagon and El Camino in the stash so after checking to see if the wagon's bench seat will fit in the Elky I'd be happy to swap my Elky buckets for your wagon bench if you want them.
  20. A quick shot of what's in the box. DSCF9220 by timothy jones, on Flickr
  21. Here's my entry for this CBP. DSCF9172 by timothy jones, on Flickr DSCF9226 by timothy jones, on Flickr DSCF9225 by timothy jones, on Flickr
  22. I got it from my LHS. I think they had just arrived here in the UK as this was the first one I'd seen.
