  1. Happy Birthday to a good friend, to a man who will always give you a kind word and a smile, to a man that provides for us a first class publication that, WE ALL look forward too. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAH....and many many more. PS. it just gets worst
  2. The more I look....the more I see, your flames are incredible. The amount of surface covered, the angles that you take, the length, the subtle tail ends etc. etc.....I know we call it true fire but there has to be boundries and form.....and man....you da man. I would love to see you do an all black body with the light blue fire (my favorite combo). Do I hear an Instructional DVD....put me on the list. GREAT WORK!!!!!!!
  3. ...BRO that was awsum....I have been getting guys at work with it all night....
  4. ...CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHATS NEXT......
  5. LOL...sorry for the confusion Dave, my name is Jay I was paying props to Matt at SMS for the superb kit And Thanks for the info on the clear.
  6. Mr. Thibodeau, there is nothing that I can say that hasn't been said before. Well maybe one thing, many a person can build a clean looking model but one of the many things that seperate you from so many of us is.....you got the eye. Many of us would be satisfied with a certian finished product but you always seem to add that something, that technique that only your eyes can see and invision!!! And that vision that skill that level of commitment is what seperates your builds from the rest of us. If I may, I would like to ask you one question. When you applied you CF decals (like the door panels) certian areas you would use 2 part clear and others you would use Future....why. Your builds teach us so so much...I just wanted to to says Thanks! And lets not forget SMS....awsum awsum kit....Thanks Matt
  7. One word.......BUTTAS.....thats a good thing.
  8. MAN....if you have been around this hobby for a few, there are some of us that can walk into a room, say a NNL. Can look over all of the cars at the show, see something sitting on the table and just know who built it. I am a big fan of your creative style. To achieve the look that you try to obtain, which entails alot of wild body mods etc. and to make it all look right is no easy task. My friend you make it look so easy. Another wild project you got goin on there....cant wait to see it done
  9. Now thats what I like Long, Smooth, Simple and Low.....and wouldnt get lost with all the Camaros at the show Nice job Irv
  10. Really nice!!!!! Could you give us a lil on painting with the nail polish
  11. Love them taillights....and you take a nice pic too.
  12. Bro.....that is mad cool....nice job!!!!
  13. You Da Man Christian.....
  14. Right on Dave!!!!! Just as the 50's had the whitewalls and the 70's had the Cragars in this time period its all about filling them wheelwells. Now if you are building a Sled....go with the whites, if you building a 70's 80's style street machine go with 60-70-whiteletter tires with mags, if you building a pro street go with the 33's and the Convos. But if you are building a MODERN looking street machine, hot rod, street rod, pro touring what ever you may call it....its big rims and rubberbands. At Barrett-Jackson.....most of the cars bringing the big money.....other then super super rare stuff....it was all the Pro Tourers...stock looking exterior, modern underpinnings, modern powerplant.....and big rims and rubberbands.
  15. Ok...I look forward to it.....you never let us down before And lead I hear ya and I respect that, but remember there are all different level of model builders that read this mag.
  16. Hey Gregg, what is your opinion on the magazine doing some "How To" articles that are a little more on the high tech (for lack of a better term) side of model building. Such as the use and selection of a lathe/mill, the use of different building materials such as brass and soldering of, resin casting, home nickle and chrome plating, vaccum forming etc. As we all have seen the bar of model building has been raised, where as a few years ago someone who had a lathe or mill was few and far between where as now, there are many a builder as myself who does have a lathe/mill and those that want to. Just as the Mag. has helped me over the many years, and has educated me with bringing my modeling abilities to the level I'm currently at, I am sure that there are many others like myself who may want to explore other venues of bringing their abilities to possibly, that next level. PS. I just want to make it clear. I am not saying that you need a lathe/mill to build a kick butt model (we all have seen it for ourselves many a time), I am talking about challenging myself and abilities by learning such techniques and sharing it with my brothers.
  17. That is some nice work there....
  18. But my peoples want to see what I can build, right? YEAH BABY......
  19. Most of us all know Mr. Stillwagons incredible work. Alot of people see his works and are imediatly attracted to his phenomenol painting abilities. But wait....there are some very subtle and very look changing mods that he has going on, which only further inhance those incredible paint jobs but sometimes, may be missed if you dont know what to look for. Now look what we have here!!!! A Box Nova, we can all agree that the Box Nova has been done and done and done. Mr. Stillwagon has taken this subject and has turned it into a modern, sexy never been seen before (not by me) rendition, that I could picture as a 1:1 vehicle on the cover of a custom car mag or maybe with all the Retro cars we see the Big 3 putting out, at a showroom floor near you. Bravo Mr. Stillwagon you have once again built a model car that makes us mere mortals go WOW!!!!!!!!!! PS. Those rescribed doors and door lines really make this car incredible. IMHO
  20. Just for the record Scrap...... you had my vote!!! DaveT Thats really kool Mr. Thibodeau.
  21. DREMEL.....and MODEL CARS MAGAZINE
  22. Happy Thanksgiving to all...and especially to our brave service men and woman, Godspeed.
  23. Bro....if ya gonna do it do it BIG....really really nice build. I dont think I have ever seen that style of truck with the dulleys in back....very nice.
  24. I like it I like it alot....
  25. Wow....some good answers there. What it does show me is that....hey, who are we fooling...we may call this thing of ours a "hobby" but this hobby....we all take it very serious. This love for model building, love of cars is all a major major part of our lives. Now of course family and other priorities come first but they are on a different level. I personally think why we build and why we love the automobile is because.....its in the genes!!!! Somewhere in that family tree....there was that "car guy" and you/me....got that DNA. With me it was my Grandpa my Dad and my Uncle. There is one thing I tell my wife all the time....the greatest greatest people in the world are "CAR GUYS" and you guys are those people. Now the last thing I will say on this topic is.....PASS IT ON, show the younger genaration how and why we have this passion, be that gene carrying person and infect them, infect them with the knowledge that they too can be priveleged to enjoy this hobby, enjoy the love of the automobile and surronding themselves and knowing the greatest people in the world "CAR GUYS" IMHO.
