Proofreading is a skill that is not taught anymore. It used to be that newspapers were impeccably proofed before they went to print. In the local newspaper, there will be spelling or grammatical errors that occur with enough frequency that it is no longer humorous. I also read an article recently where businesses are having to train new hires to write letters and memos. The person quoted in the article said that schools are not teaching this skill with enough frequency that it is making a lasting impression. The person went on to say that one new hire, who was a college graduate, used "cuz" instead of "because" in an internal company memo. This was the company's "aha" moment that they had to start a training program to address this. How this decline has happened in the span of only two generations is as breathtaking as it is sad.

Good low-cost commercial spray booth
Jim N replied to foxbat426's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Under the Tips, Tricks and Tutorials category, there is a 15 page thread on paint booths. It's locked so it is at the top of the screen. There are a lot of tips and good advice there. If you want something inexpensive, you may want to consider making one yourself. I bought a small unit from a company that advertises in the modelling magazines. The name escapes me as I am away from home, but it was between $300 and $400. I like the unit and do not have any complaints, but if I had to do it all over again, I think I would build my own. -

Looks very nice. Of the 67, 68 and 69 Camaros, the 68 is my favorite.

Compressor recommendations
Jim N replied to Modlbldr's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you want something silent, I use a 7 gallon air tank. Buy some threaded copper tubing from the hardware store and teflon tape. You will also need an air regulator. I have been using this kind of a setup for probably 15 years or more. In the early years, I would take the take to a gas station and fill it. A number of years ago, I bought an air compressor for my garage so I can use air tools to do some work on my cars. I use the air compressor to fill the air tank. I recommend changing tanks about every five or seven years, but they are not that expensive. -

In the spring race at Richmond, Mountain Dew ran two cars promoting their Pitch Black and Baja Blast flavors. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. drove the car promoting both flavors and Kasey Kahne drove the Pitch Black car. I built Kahne's car first as I thought it looked real cool and then built Jr.'s to finish the set. The decals are from Patto's Place and the paint is WalMart's brand of enamel spray paint. The decals do not fit these cars well as they seem to be fitted for the slot car bodies Patto's sells, but with a little work, I think they turn out pretty good. Thanks for looking.
