  1. USAC race car modeling question: I know that these race cars during the late-1950's to mid-1960's frequently kept their interior door panel's with the armrests still in-place, but did these cars have their side-window glass still inside the car meaning the interior window-cranks were also still on the inner door panels, or was the side glass gone from the car meaning the window-cranks would be gone, too?
  2. Really enjoyed this! Interesting to only see one or two Chevrolet's in this group; and that "Studie"!

    67 GTX

Looks really good! Put some plates on her and let's take her out for a spin!
  4. Will be watching this build closely. Did you use 1:1 reference pics for those interior/rear structural panels or just "freelance" the inner-panel design?
  5. Excellent build! Looks just right! I'm curious what the large holes in the trunk lid accomplished... any idea?
  6. I'll be watching this one as it progresses; you're off to a great start!
  7. Beautiful! Sure would like to see another pic of this tiny build sitting next to a ruler... the 1:1 was a small car in the first place; in 1/43rd its gotta be quite tiny!
  8. Great... thanks for this paint info!
  9. I'm curious what paint you used for the interior cuz that is the color I'm looking for my in-progress '65 Riviera build! In my opinion your build turned a "sow's ear into a silk purse". Well done!
  10. As expected... simply awesome!
  11. That is quite a collection of awesome T-Bird builds! It's difficult to pick out a favorite because they are all so well done and have such unique features built into them! I wonder what the total number of hours you spent on these 6 beautiful builds is... bet you probably don't wanna know that number!
  12. Looks good! Is this the reissued Round2 kit?
  13. Lots to love about this build! I especially like the wheels and tires choice; well done!
  14. I believe the racing tires found in these Modified Stocker kits aren't specific to any race tracks, but could be considered "region-specific". What I mean by that is that in the mid-1960's thru mid-1970's, dirt track race cars were built based on parts, (including tires), and methods that were popular, (and successful on the track), in their region. I believe, in the northeastern region of the US, these big tires were popular during that era; (might have been popular in the southeastern US, too). Here in the midwest, I don't recall ever seeing the big tires on the track. Any other opinions out there regarding my "regional" theory?
  15. Agreed; amazing craftsmanship! Simply stunning build!
  16. Really like this build. The engine choice/build and entire engine compartment look excellent.
  17. Looks really good, but help me understand your pictures. Is that middle pic showing a well-experienced and banged-up dirt track car a photo of Bob's original build or an in-progress build of yours?
  18. Seems to me that I remember somebody here doing a pretty-accurate conversion of a '64 Cutlass convertible into a hardtop by using the separate roof piece from the AMT '65 GTO kit. Curious if others think that might be a good approach?
  19. I agree; love seeing these unusual race cars many-of-which were probably built in backyard garages. That 4-door Olds is a whoot; I was thinking that last pic Chevrolet looked like it might have a '67 Chevelle roof on top of it!?!?!?
  20. I have worked on the chassis and suspension of this kit for my own build 3 or 4 times, stopped because I wasn't satisfied with the attempts, and tore-it-apart again and restarted with a different plan in-mind. I'm glad I spotted this post; its given me some new ideas towards a much-better solution... I'll try again and keep watching this post.
  21. Will be watching this build; looks like its off to a great start!
  22. Good-looking build; put some license plates on it and let's take it out for a run!
  23. Be following this one, too. The color scheme you have planned sounds period-perfect to me!
  24. I'll be following your progress on this build. Do you anticipate having to make any adjustments to that one-piece chassis or do you have a different approach for the chassis or just going straight-out-of-the-box with the kit piece?
  25. An excellent save! I've always felt the Buick Gran Sport was the best looking of all the mid-1960's GM A-bodies even though it is probably the least popular.
