  1. Could it be the 428 Cobra Jet engine from this kit:
  2. Looks like a good candidate for a restoration build to me !
  3. A little "Stude with a 'Tude"... nice!
  4. Fabulous pics; thanks for posting the link to these! I'll need to visit them several times just to take-in all the car-modeling inspiration they generate!
  5. Really nice build! It's such a good thing when "dead" projects come-back to "life" and turn into outstanding builds! Your detailing and detail-paintwork is outstanding; that hood emblem is so small and so cleanly painted as are all the other body emblems! Did you flock the interior's carpet, or is that the kit-textured floor?
  6. Looks terrific to my eye, Johnny! What kit is this build based-on, (is it a Monogram or AMT kit or something else)?

Looks really good to my eye! Sure would like to see a few more pics of the engine and chassis!
  8. Snake: A full-side-view of those bodies might also reveal some differences in the side-window shapes that would be good to compare.
  9. I truly appreciate the wealth of knowledge found on this forum; thanks to all that responded to my bumpers question; it'll help me to build a more accurate model and that's what's great about this forum!
  10. I, too, really appreciate the unplated bumpers for building a car with body-colored bumpers, but this leads me to a question. It seems to me that I've seen 1:1 1970 Plymouth Cuda's, (and other Mopar products of this vintage), that had the factory-painted bumpers installed, but in some cases, it was only the FRONT bumper that received the body-colored paint, and the 1:1 rear bumper was still in Chrome. Am I losing-my-mind; was what I saw an abnormality or did '70 Cuda's sometimes roll out of the factory that way?
  11. It strikes me as funny that many of the "oldest" builds in this post are of the same kit; the 1/25 AMT 1968 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang. This build of mine was originally done in the Fall of 1975, and then rebuilt in late-1989 as a GT-350 version.
  12. Beautiful workmanship and a amazing paint job!
  13. Nicely done! That glow-in-the-dark look is fantastic!
  14. Stunning build; both of them!
  15. That is an awesome build-idea and outstanding bodywork to make it all happen!
  16. Dang that's cool! It'd be pretty easy to parallel park, too!
  17. What are you using for the chassis underneath this project? Your body alterations look terrific!
  18. Just started building my F-100 Flareside. There are no painting notes to be found on this kit's instruction sheet, which leads me to a couple of questions: 1). The built-up box art model shows a Ford Corporate Blue engine block color; thru research I do know that Ford changed it's engine paint colors program starting in 1966 to the Ford Corporate Blue for the 1:1 passenger car motors, but did this also apply to pickup truck engines? (For some reason, I thought these 1966 240" straight-6 motors were painted in Black)? 2). Were the wheels always painted in White from the factory, or were they sometimes painted in the 1:1's body paint color? Any paint color suggestions would be most-welcome; thanks!
  19. Looks to me like the Brats were raced "down-under" in Australia, but not much in this hemisphere.
  20. Really nice build! Love that color choice and those '69 Cougar wheels (something I wouldn't have thought of), are certainly an excellent choice!
  21. I wonder if any 1:1 Brats of the past spent time as racers on the Baja of California or in any of those cross-country off-road races that used to occur down thru Mexico? This kit would appeal to me even more if I could find a racing-version in 1:1 and try to replicate it.
  22. Looks like a slightly new "look" for this Brat reissue's box artwork. I kinda like it; sorta "retro" and "new" at the same time!
  23. Tim, Any idea if the 340 motor in this upcoming AAR Cuda kit is a newly-tooled motor?
  24. Does anyone have an idea whether the 340 engine inside this upcoming 1970 AAR Cuda will be made of newly-tooled engine parts, or is it possible that this engine will be a pick-up from some vintage Monogram/Revell tool, (like the poorly-produced 1/24 Monogram/Revell-attempt at an AAR Cuda that was produced back in the 1990's)? They wouldn't pick-up a vintage 1/24 engine and try to make it drop-into a more recently tooled 1/25 scale kit... would they?
