Spray a little weed-killer on that sidewalk crack and your pics would look like a 1:1 car! Great job!

Considering this reissue, but one big problem for me is the molded-in chassis details with no separate suspension pieces. Any suggestions for what might be a more-detailed chassis to drop underneath this kit?

I'll be watching your build as it progresses; it looks like you're off to a great start! I've been on-the-fence about purchasing this reissue; I think following your build will help me make my final decision.

Stunning build! Color choices are outstanding! Well done!

1966 Ford F250 Service Truck

Great looking build! I see you removed the incorrect trim from the body's sides; was that pretty easy to accomplish? -
Stunning! Fantastic work painting all those stripes and the added engine compartment detailing is outstanding! Well done!

This is an awesome build! I really like the "look" of those painted numbers on the doors; outstanding!

Snake; would sure like to see a simple pic or two of that built-up you have; I'm curious what the rear-end of that Vega wagon body looks like and also what the funny car chassis looks like.

I'm curious about the 3D printed tires on this build; did you print them from your own 3D printer? Did you create the 3D-rendering-print file that they were printed from or did you source that print file elsewhere?

Your work and extra-efforts on this build are outstanding! The weathering inside that engine compartment is very well done; nice job!

Why would AMT do this?
'70 Grande replied to highway's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
With my limited experience in dealing with Product Name Licensing for over 15-20 years, I'm pretty certain most, (not necessarily-all), Product Name Licensing Contracts are based on a usage fee for each individual product, (AMT Peterbilt Wrecker kit), being produced/manufactured that would use that product name, (Firestone or Goodyear), within the product/kit's contents. Each kit pays its own licensing fee based on that particular kit's production-run, (how many kits are being manufactured), and wholesale distribution, (just sold in the USA, or also sold in some international markets). Now, I suspect that Coca-Cola gave AMT/Round-2 a "deal" on the licensing fees if they used that Coca-Cola logo artwork on more kits. "Go ahead, AMT/Round-2, produce one kit in 2019 with our Coca-Cola logo artwork on the decal sheet and the licensing fee will be $1.00/per kit produced, (completely made-up $ amount here for example-purposes only). OR, go ahead and put our Coca-Cola logo artwork on 5 different kits that you will produce in 2019, and that $1.00/per kit cost will go down to $0.85/per kit... OR go ahead and put our Coca-Cola logo artwork on 10 different kits that you will produce in 2019, and that $1.00/per kit cost will go down to $0.65/per kit." Same logic would apply to tire brand names as well. -

A little "Stude with a 'Tude"... nice!

Really nice build! It's such a good thing when "dead" projects come-back to "life" and turn into outstanding builds! Your detailing and detail-paintwork is outstanding; that hood emblem is so small and so cleanly painted as are all the other body emblems! Did you flock the interior's carpet, or is that the kit-textured floor?

Looks terrific to my eye, Johnny! What kit is this build based-on, (is it a Monogram or AMT kit or something else)?

Looks really good to my eye! Sure would like to see a few more pics of the engine and chassis! -
Snake: A full-side-view of those bodies might also reveal some differences in the side-window shapes that would be good to compare.

I truly appreciate the wealth of knowledge found on this forum; thanks to all that responded to my bumpers question; it'll help me to build a more accurate model and that's what's great about this forum!
-
I, too, really appreciate the unplated bumpers for building a car with body-colored bumpers, but this leads me to a question. It seems to me that I've seen 1:1 1970 Plymouth Cuda's, (and other Mopar products of this vintage), that had the factory-painted bumpers installed, but in some cases, it was only the FRONT bumper that received the body-colored paint, and the 1:1 rear bumper was still in Chrome. Am I losing-my-mind; was what I saw an abnormality or did '70 Cuda's sometimes roll out of the factory that way?

It strikes me as funny that many of the "oldest" builds in this post are of the same kit; the 1/25 AMT 1968 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang. This build of mine was originally done in the Fall of 1975, and then rebuilt in late-1989 as a GT-350 version.

Beautiful workmanship and a amazing paint job!
