  1. Pics could easily make the viewer think this is a 1:1 shot... Very nicely done! Posts some pics of that roughed-up version too!
  2. I was thinking of building a 1960 Corvette Gasser using this Roots-style blower set-up on top of a 283 V-8 to make it somewhat unique. Anybody know if the Roots-style blowers were used in mid-1960's gassers very often, and if they had been used, were they very effective? (increase in horsepower/torque)? The other thing that I'll have to figure out is if it'd fit inside that narrow Corvette engine compartment!
  3. Yes, Roots-style... thanks Casey!
  4. My first thought was that it represents a 1:1 Latham supercharger, but if that's what it's supposed to be, than the representation isn't very good. I seem to remember another type of late-1950's/early-1960's supercharger that looks more like these kit pieces but I can't remember the name/brand.
  5. A qwik question about engine parts in the reissued '57 "Pepper Shaker" Chevy kit; There's an unusual blower set-up for the 409 engine in this kit. That blower set-up sits low on the intake manifold, and has 4 carbs that attach to the blower, two on each side sticking out horizontally. Can anyone educate me as to what this represents from the 1:1 world?
  6. So now I have some questions about this reissue of the '59 Imperial. Convertible or hardtop? With or without an engine? Has this kit been previously reissued? (Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself here, but does anybody have some answers)?
  7. Where did this one come from? Did anybody know about this upcoming (re)issue or am I the only one with a surprised look on my face!
  8. A great collection of builds! One thing that caught-my-eye; I would have suspected that the '59 Cadillac 4-door would have been one of the largest, (size-wise in 1:1), autos in the group, but that built-up appears somewhat undersized to my eyes, (like it might be 1:26th scale or something). Anybody else see it that way...?
  9. Really like this build! When growing up, I lived in the town where the 1:1 International Harvester Combines were manufactured; it wouldn't surprise me if IH had escort vehicles just like this for getting those behemoths delivered to the IH dealers! This build sure looks the part!
  10. Bill, I hope you got some good reference pics of that nice-looking 1:1 '68 Chevelle showing in the background of your Blue, 1967 Chevrolet Camaro convertible pic! (in a way, the thread seems to have reached back unto itself)!
  11. I was kinda wondering the same thing. I plan on removing those torsion bars and adding some support braces in an attempt to convert the "look" of this front suspension into something more GM-like. Any thoughts PettyKW43 on what alts might help pull-it-off?
  12. Outta my own curiosity, I pulled out my kit of Revell's 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, just to take a look and see if this new '68 Chevelle kit's 396 Big-block looked like a pick-up from that '67 Camaro kit's molds. It's too early to tell due to few reference pics for the "68 Chevelle being out there yet, but to my eye, it looks like that's a very good possibility.
  13. Sure would like to see a reissue and/or new kit of a 1967 or '68 Mercury Cougar in factory-stock form. The AMT '69 Cougar is okay, but the first two years of the Cougar just "caught-my-fancy" a bit more, and there is such a variety of versions that could be newly-kitted like a GT-E or XR-7, (Motor Trend Magazine's 1967 Car-of-the-Year)!
  14. Oops; just read that the rear suspension came outta the Dodge A-100 pickup... nice.
  15. Simply love this build! I have had this same kit-conversion in my mind for many years, but I never started it because removing all of those awkward door hinges and re-doing the doors for a better fit were too big of stumbling-blocks for me! I really like the integration of the Rally 4-banger and the paintwork looks outstanding as well! Do you remember where you sourced that rear axle/suspension from?
  16. This is one of the best-looking executions of this "tough-to-build" kit that I have ever seen! Your rattlecan paint job looks excellent, and the stance and wheel/tire swap looks just right, too! I've attempted to build this kit two times, and had poor-success with one and never finished the other. This kit is great subject matter, and difficult to make look good; but you sure did! Welcome to the forum!
  17. Has anyone built this 66 Mercury kit yet? Would be interested in seeing some built pics of it or any thoughts on how it goes together.
  18. Really nice build! Has a great look to it! Sure would like to see some underhood pics!

    Tall "T"

Very cool and unique with outstanding paint and workmanship! I like the added details like the pinstripes on the seatbacks. I'm not certain what is hanging just inside the windshield?
  20. Or Jerry Jardine's law firm is the reason for the different spelling.
  21. Steve, What do you mean regarding the firewall? Does it have some fit-issues, or molded-detail issues, or something else incorrect about it?
  22. Well, I'd start by saying the packaging design looks excellent, (and I'm a graphic designer in my career)! I think you're on the right track by trying to offer products that haven't been offered previously by other model car parts sources. One suggestion that I might make would be to not attempt to offer a huge product-line right from the start. Get some feedback from forum members here as to what parts they'd be most interested in purchasing right away and make sure you have the production of those products "nailed-down" before you start building/increasing the overall product line. I realize this post of yours is an attempt to gather some information from the forum members here... maybe take a look at some of the initial product offerings you were considering getting started with, and ask the members here what their interest would be in those initial offerings. For example, I wouldn't want you to pour time and effort, (and $'s), into that Sprint Car Oil tank item if hardly anybody here would be interested in actually purchasing one. Just my 2 cents... I'll probably post some parts suggestions, but I need a day or two to think about what my suggestions might be.
  23. I agree with the previous comments; very well done, (especially for your 4th build)! Welcome to the forum; you'll be able to learn alot from the master builders here!
  24. Really excellent build and concept! Everything about this build takes the nice little Opel GT into a tight, still-little but packed with a punch muscle car realm! It's fun to imagine what driving a 1:1 version would be like!
  25. Yep; MPC it was... and a brain-lapse on my part!
