Really nice build! Don't see these built-up very often; this is one of the best that I've seen! The added side chrome trim really adds alot to the overall look of this build!

"The Coupe From Riverside" - DW Cheetah - "Scale" Photo Added 12-3-18

Both of these are excellent builds! Really like the engine details in the smaller version, (surprised it has that aspect in the smaller version but not so much in the larger version)! ? ? -
An outstanding build! Everything looks just right! I'm curious; can someone tell me what that "tank?" piece represents on the front/driver's side inside the engine compartment?

I thought the Cabriolet terminology might be the French word for Convertible, but that makes me wonder why this "vintage 1969" box art style has the French translations on it, but the recently-shown 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle reissue-kit in that same "vintage 1969" box art style has no French translations on it?!?!? (Maybe packaging-consistency isn't an important priority at Round-2).

I'm not sure I understand the "Convertible Cabriolet" product description on that '69 Plymouth GTX box lid. I doubt that Plymouth would have used words like that, especially in 1969!

Is that "completely Chrome engine" a Ford 390 V8 with Thunderbird valve covers?

WOW! That is one outstandingly beautiful build! Incredibly clean; great paint color choices; the finest build I have yet to see of this particular kit.

Awesome looking build and conversion packing that engine into that engine bay! I'm curious how you created the front spoiler; to my eye it really enhances the overall look of the front end, and if I can recreate that piece, I'd probably add it to my own in-progress '70 Superbee build!

´78 AMC Pacer with a lot of ´06 Camaro DNA

Its possible the added-on custom front-end on that Gremmy just "bulks-up" the overall look of it! -

Really like this build! Your conversion work is outstanding and the finish looks excellent! I was quite surprised when I saw that last photo; in my mind the Gremlin should be overall a bit smaller than that Pacer, but the photo sure makes the Gremmy look like a larger car than his younger brother. -
News of Revell molding preparing in US

Almost 50 company/corporate/individuals named on that listing alone, and when kits get issued/reissued the model company gets to write somebody on that listing or some other list a $ check. It's easy to see that alot of factors, (many financial), go into the decisions for what kits are put into production. Makes me think turning a profit in the model-making business is no easy task. -
There's been alot of excellent builds of this kit posted out there, but this one is probably my favorite! All around excellence in this build.

Pics could easily make the viewer think this is a 1:1 shot... Very nicely done! Posts some pics of that roughed-up version too!

AMT 57 Chevy Pepper Shaker - Newest reissue
'70 Grande replied to pharoah's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I was thinking of building a 1960 Corvette Gasser using this Roots-style blower set-up on top of a 283 V-8 to make it somewhat unique. Anybody know if the Roots-style blowers were used in mid-1960's gassers very often, and if they had been used, were they very effective? (increase in horsepower/torque)? The other thing that I'll have to figure out is if it'd fit inside that narrow Corvette engine compartment! -

Yes, Roots-style... thanks Casey! -
AMT 57 Chevy Pepper Shaker - Newest reissue

My first thought was that it represents a 1:1 Latham supercharger, but if that's what it's supposed to be, than the representation isn't very good. I seem to remember another type of late-1950's/early-1960's supercharger that looks more like these kit pieces but I can't remember the name/brand. -
AMT 57 Chevy Pepper Shaker - Newest reissue
'70 Grande replied to pharoah's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
A qwik question about engine parts in the reissued '57 "Pepper Shaker" Chevy kit; There's an unusual blower set-up for the 409 engine in this kit. That blower set-up sits low on the intake manifold, and has 4 carbs that attach to the blower, two on each side sticking out horizontally. Can anyone educate me as to what this represents from the 1:1 world? -
SOME CURRENT ROUND 2 INFO TODAY...
'70 Grande replied to AC Norton's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
So now I have some questions about this reissue of the '59 Imperial. Convertible or hardtop? With or without an engine? Has this kit been previously reissued? (Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself here, but does anybody have some answers)? -

Where did this one come from? Did anybody know about this upcoming (re)issue or am I the only one with a surprised look on my face! -
A great collection of builds! One thing that caught-my-eye; I would have suspected that the '59 Cadillac 4-door would have been one of the largest, (size-wise in 1:1), autos in the group, but that built-up appears somewhat undersized to my eyes, (like it might be 1:26th scale or something). Anybody else see it that way...?

Bill, I hope you got some good reference pics of that nice-looking 1:1 '68 Chevelle showing in the background of your Blue, 1967 Chevrolet Camaro convertible pic! (in a way, the thread seems to have reached back unto itself)!

I was kinda wondering the same thing. I plan on removing those torsion bars and adding some support braces in an attempt to convert the "look" of this front suspension into something more GM-like. Any thoughts PettyKW43 on what alts might help pull-it-off?

Outta my own curiosity, I pulled out my kit of Revell's 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, just to take a look and see if this new '68 Chevelle kit's 396 Big-block looked like a pick-up from that '67 Camaro kit's molds. It's too early to tell due to few reference pics for the "68 Chevelle being out there yet, but to my eye, it looks like that's a very good possibility.
