I've been considering picking up the latest reissue of this kit, but the one-piece chassis holds me back. I might have a more-detailed parts box chassis swap, and was wondering if you might provide me with two measurements from that one-piece chassis. What is the one-piece chassis' wheelbase in inches and also its width in inches, (as measured thru the middle between the doors)? Thanks!

I've seen alot of builds of this particular kit over the years, and this one is probably my all-time favorite... simply stunning!

Remember... remember... remember... gotta send my "Holy Grail" kit list to Snake so he can buy them all up and then get that reissue-fountain to start pouring out those holy-grail kits that I long to buy!!!!

Excellent looking build! Looks really good in that smooth Bright Red paint. Your detail-work and decal application looks outstanding! What did you do to achieve the look on those kit wheels?

ChrisBcritter... Yes, post those Fiero song lyrics!

A beautiful build of a beautiful race car. Your paint and decal work are exceptional! I'm curious regarding what appears to be Chrysler pentastars on the rear wing; did Chrysler have a racing connection to Matra/Simca?

1/25 AMT 1970.5 Camaro Z28 - Full Bumper
'70 Grande replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
My second 1:1 was a baseline '70 Camaro that was nearly as bare-bones as a consumer could get. A 250ci straight-6, (which weighed more than the small-block V8 and not much less than the big-blocks), no power steering or brakes but it did have a heater and an AM-radio! If unchanged in this reissue, the seat & interior door patterns found in this kit will not be correct for a baseline Camaro, and my 1:1 had extremely-baseline hubcaps that I've never seen issued in a kit before. -

Revell 1970 Torina Cobra Twister Special!

Stunning builds... simply stunning! -
Seems to me like you just answered the question that started this post in the first place! Dollars invested vs. potential dollars profited are the basis for every business decision made... I don't think the future reissue of this '71 Roadrunner kit is based on "someone at Round2 not liking '71/72 Roadrunners"; its based on projected dollars and cents profited... its that simple.

Beautiful build(s)! It's interesting to compare the '55 and '56 side-by-side. IMO; although the '55's design was way-ahead of the mid-1950's products coming out of Chevrolet or Ford, the designers at Chrysler really moved the looks of the '56 even farther ahead with the design refinements they brought to the '56... 1st-class design all the way!

I wonder if the front and rear bumpers from this Modified Stocker Chevelle would also be a clean replacement for the Revell's Z-16 bumpers with the ugly bumper guards mounted to them?

Looks just like I remember the 1:1's! Great paintwork and detailing on that interior! Put a license plate on it and we should take her out for a spin!
-
Like this one alot; looking forward to seeing it all finished up! Your paintwork really plays-off the car's name well.
-
Wow! This is one of the finest early-Ford customs that I have ever seen. The multiple alterations that you did to that body make it sing... awesome build!
-
Beautiful build! Get some license plates on her so we can take it out for a drive!
-
Lovely. If I could have my choice of any 1:1 Mustang parked in my own garage, this would be the one!

Randy, I'd sure like to see an underneath-pic of Mustang Sally, (that sounds borderline weird!). I'm still working on an improved chassis under the '66 Mustang project that I'm in the middle of, and would like to see a pic of your '67 Mustang chassis underneath her.

AMT 1966 Ford Mustang Hood?
'70 Grande replied to STYRENE-SURFER's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'm in-the-middle of a '66 AMT Mustang chassis-swap project right now, and I can tell you that I originally thought the AMT/Ertl/Round-2 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500 kit's chassis would be a quick-n-easy drop-in replacement, but it's more challenging than I originally thought. Had to add rear wheel wells, cut-out a section of the center of the chassis and replace it, fabricate-in the rear portion of the driveshaft tunnel, add a new transmission-mount brace and I'm still in the process of getting the firewall and chassis to mate to each other properly. I expected a few hours of work, but that's increased to 20+ hours and I'm not done yet. -
Really, really like this build! You sure hit your goal of replicating the 1:1 found in that magazine article! I'm curious what you did to adjust the position of the front wheels to get 'em under the fenders?

Love this build! Any idea if this Tamiya kit is still available out there anywhere?
