  1. Lovely work. I’m loving the slammed look and those Pegasus wheels are cool. Would they be a scale 20”? Who makes this kit? are there two different types? I remember having a full detail kit of this with a Turbine engine when I was a kid. I think that was a JoHan. Such an interesting kit, and I was too afraid of building it so sold it to another collector.
  2. Very nice paint. I really think This version of Rosso suits modern Ferraris well.
  3. Love the look and stance of this ??
  4. Such a cool custom. I love that paint!
  5. This is going to be a cool Beetle. That open roof kit is really nice, especially the helpful template.
  6. Thanks for that valuable information. Very useful to know. I’ll be looking out for that kit.
  7. A long overdue progress report on my project '57! First off was a mock up to check ride height and stance. Out of the box, I think this sits a little high. Looking at pictures of 1:1 cars, its hard to know what stock height should really look like. some cars are modified and others may have 60+ year old saggy suspension. I also noticed something odd about the way the wheels and tyres fit together. Below, on the left is the kit tyre. On the right is a Satco tyre that I've had sat in my box of spare parts for near 30 years. I think I'll put them to good use here! The wheels seem to sit better inside the tyre, whereas on the kit tyres they sit proud. Its the same on the inside of the wheel. Looking at the way the rear suspension goes together, the kit has the leaf springs attach directly to the floor pan. I'm sure they should attach to the chassis. I want to build the rolling chassis completely separate to the body, so this was up for a little fix. I looked up some images of 1:1 rear spring shackles for a '57 and knocked these up from plastic sheet. This won't be 100% accurate, but at least better than the kit and it will allow me to attach the leaf springs directly to that chassis. I cut the ends off the leaf springs and made new ends that depict one end rolled. One end is rolled upwards, and the other end rolled down. I'm lowering the front end by changing the angle of the A-arms slightly. A little cheat - I've added a small shim to move the upper arm upwards. I think I have the stance just right now. From what I've seen on 1:1 cars the top of the front wheel arch seems to be in line with the top of the white wall, and at the rear the top of the wheel arch seems to be in line with the top of the wheel. Combined with the Satco tyres I think this is sitting just right now. Let me know what you think. The rolling chassis.
  8. Thanks for sharing this. It looks great as a road version. Stunning in yellow! A road version was something I had contemplated doing, but figured that sourcing treaded 1/12 tyres would be tricky. Good to know they were included in your kit though. I wonder if Tamiya are including those treaded tyres with the latest release of this kit.
  9. Great work. I also thought it was the Lorinser version, but I see it doesn’t have the rear spoiler. I actually prefer it without. Those wheels look just perfect!
  10. Love it! Not just a great model, but I bet as much work went into making the video. I’m a fan.
  11. That paint job came out really well. Your airbrush finish looks good enough as it is. Probably won’t need much polishing.
  12. Wow. What a kit! Impressive work so far. The Miura is probably my all time favourite poster car. I’d love to build a 1/8th some day. I’ve never tackled anything bigger than 1/12 scale.
  13. Oh wow. That is such a cool wagon. I love it ????
  14. That looks great as a 3-window. Very much like a Willys. The split rear screen gets my thumbs up too.
  15. Good work so far. I can tell this is going to be another epic build. I’ll be watching. The FXXK is on my build list, but the carbon fibre decal work is scaring me off a little.
  16. I love the ‘40 body shape. This is looking good even before paint.
  17. Great looking model. Some of those pics can pass as a 1:1 car!
  18. Very nice build. Looks like a good kit. I’d like to build one of these to display alongside a classic Beetle.
  19. Wow. How great to see one of these built up. I’ve never seen anyone build an RS1600i version. It looks fantastic - especially on BBS wheels. I had this kit as a Matchbox branded re-issue, purchased for £4.99 in Toys-R-us in the 90s. I think all versions of this kit are super rare now.
  20. What a great colour choice. Very nice build ??.
  21. That is simply beautiful! Thanks for sharing your building notes.
  22. Very nice build indeed. Nothing wrong with using box art colours. These Meobius kits are great.
  23. Very impressive.
  24. Yet again, I am speechless by the attention to detail and workmanship. I would never have thought of having recesses on the back of the license plate. Outstanding work ??
  25. Loving that paint. This is going to be wild.
