  1. Cool and classy. The Y block seems the perfect choice in a period Rod. Nice job ??.
  2. Totally fantastic. I love it. Great photography too
  3. What a beauty! The Tamiya silver leaf looks superb. The metallic flake appears to be perfectly to scale. Looks fantastic. Did you have to clear coat over it, or is that how glossy it comes out?
  4. Wonderful job on a wonderful kit. Hard to believe that the body is unpainted. Good work Harry.
  5. That’s a beauty. Candy red can never be wrong. I’ve got to lay hands on this kit.
  6. Great fix on the roof post. Finished model is a beauty. I love these old Jo Han kits.
  7. Wow, your car is a beauty - the 1:1 one, and your scale one. You could never have too many ‘57 Chevys. We have some premium fuels here in the UK that are fine for classics. Of course, we have to pay more for them though.
  8. Great start. I really like this ‘pro shop’ version too. It’s a very nice kit. I’ve made a start on my one too, but hit some fit issues with suspension and engine/transmission mounts. You’ll probably sail through these! There’s many great videos and pics available online for reference, but nothing beats having your own 1:1 in the garage! Are you going to build a replica of your own?
  9. Beautiful job on what is probably the ultimate Ferrari. I love the photos in the drizzle. I think this is the same kit as the Protar branded one. If so, aren’t those wire wheels just the best!
  10. You done a beautiful job there. It must have been tricky getting the glass to fit so well, with the thickness of the resin. I used to have a resin kit of this, though mine was made by Airtrax - not R&R. It was the thickness of the casting that deterred me from building it, and I eventually passed it on.
  11. No fit issues to report here. It’s a relatively straight forward build. If you build it straight out of the box, the hollow backs to the seats will show in an obvious way. Also, if you start researching the 1:1 car, you’ll see the central grille in the bonnet (hood), is moulded too narrow.
  12. Thanks everyone for your positive comments. It’s great to get such encouragement - really inspires me to push forward with the next one.
  13. Here's my Ferrari 575 Marenello. It's the first model I've finished in 11 years! Yes - that's right. I never stopped modelling, but I just never seemed to get anything finished... till now! Each project I start ends up going down a rabbit hole of detailing and complexity, and then the inevitable happens. I just lose interest and it goes back in a box for another day. This time, I decided there would be none of that. The only way I've managed to finish this one is by constantly telling myself that "that'll do". No more chasing perfection. If it looks OK, I'll go with it. This model is far from the best thing I've ever done. It's built just for fun, and my aim was; if it ends up being something I don't mind putting on the shelf, well that'll be great. If not, it can stay in a box, but at least I can say I completed something. So, this is the Fujimi kit. Pretty much a curbside model. It has some nice engravings underneath, but has no engine to display. I still couldn't help modifying it a little. Filling the backs of the hollow seats (a glaringly obvious flaw in this kit) and adding seat belts seemed like the minimum I should do. Then I used metal transfer Ferrari badging from an aftermarket company and got an Accustion photo etch set, but only actually used the brake discs from it. Oh yes, and I opened up the vent hole in the bonnet (hood), as its incorrectly too small in the kit. The colour is actually an Aston Martin one from Zero paints (I know - it's not a proper Ferrari colour, but lets pretend someone asked Luca di Montezemolo very nicely). I've use Zero's 2K clear with a blue tint to darken it a little. I did not take the time to polish out the finish, and I think this really shows now. Oh well "that'll do". The interior is my mix of colours to achieve Farrari's 'Creme' leather. I made the number plates to look like UK ones - white on the front, and yellow at the rear, using an aftermarket sticker supplier from ebay. I won't be using them again as you only get one chance with positioning the numbers. Unlike a decal, which can be fine tuned into position, the sticker have to go in exactly the right spot first time. It's tricky! Overall, a fun build. I hope you all like it, and will agree that 'that'll do'.
  14. Hi all, I've recently started using 2K clear from Zero Paints with pretty good results. I've been putting the clear coat on after paint and before chrome foil, painting window trim and panel accent lines. However, now I'm thinking of putting the clear on after the chrome foil etc. Has anyone tried doing it this way round?
  15. This is looking like a really nice kit. Great to see a new tool from Italeri. I'm hoping they will do a 'road' version too.
  16. Fantastic build and video. Thanks for sharing. The 288 GTO is literally my favourite Ferrari. The EM version of this kit is probably my favourite model kit too.
  17. Just spotted your Cobra again on the MFH homepage.
  18. Well done on the award. Well deserved for such a stunning Cobra.
  19. Good start Martin. I always thought the Audis in I Robot were cool. Great idea with using ping pong balls. I never would have thought of that.
  20. An absolutely stunning job! In my opinion this is Tamiya at its very best. And you’ve really done the kit justice. I thought your DS21 was beautiful, but this is even better. Thanks for sharing your building techniques and paint details - very helpful.
  21. Nice work on smoothing out the body Martin. These old AMTs take some work, but I bet you’ll turn this in to a cracker. Nice work on the interior too. is this to be the first of a series of Gotham cars?
  22. Loving this fantastic build. These MFH kits are something else.
  23. Very clean build, and those intake stacks are the cherry on the cake. Great photography too.
  24. Such a cool custom. The Champagne Gold really suits the smooth shape.
  25. How good to see a GTO in this colour. A beautiful build.
