    My 5 for 20

Five sharp builds for sure. I really like that MT funnycar.
  2. Love all those T-bolts Tom.
  3. That's a beauty, Craig. I'd be proud to have that one in my collection. Excellent job on the vinyl top and the weathering underneath. Those colors fit it so well. Congrats.
  4. Took the words right out of my mouth LOL. Nice 442 Stephen.
  5. Welcome back to the hobby, those look great. ? Sweet backdrop too.
  6. A pretty average year for me quantity wise, even though I didn't finish the first one 'till June. Hope everyone has a great New Year's!
  7. So well done and loved watching this come together. Love the steering wheel.
  8. For my latest project I decided to tackle one of these notorious monsters from Polar Lights. Armed with the assistance of Matt McNally's excellent guide of building tips on his website just a click away, I have to say that the build went along smoother than I had figured it would. She was still temperamental at times, but I wrestled it into submission. The headers were the biggest fight, even with tons of trimming and testing they still don't fit right, which plays havoc with the exhaust pipes...got 'em in there the best I could. The roof number decal gave me all kinds of fits too. After some slicing and what seemed like an ocean of Micro Sol I conceded and had to call it good enough. Not pleased with it but it is what it is. The kit tires were junk so I threw on a set of PPP tires & wheels. The last half of the exhaust pipes are aluminum tubing, though painted to match the rest of the pipes. I'm glad I finally took the plunge and brought one of these kits to the bench, they are such a great subject and with some patience can be made into some decent lookers. I've go three more in the stash to tackle in the future, maybe sooner than later. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take my usual outdoor pics with snow flurries coming and going so I made do with some impromptu indoor shots. I may try to take some better outdoor shots at a later date and post them up. Anyways, hope everyone has a great new year's and on to the pics.
  9. Very cool wagon Roger. It sure doesn't show that you encountered the issues you spoke of, the end result looks great. Maybe GM should have offered a wagon in the SS lineup as well, as I'm sure they would of had some takers.
  10. Wow that is beautiful. Those colors work so well on it
  11. I completely agree, such a cool platform to build on...whether a real deal one or in scale. So many great builds here, love seeing them all. The only two I've built so far. This one I hope to restore/rebuild some day. It was my dad's that he built sometime back in the late 60's early 70's I believe. Its missing the left rear slick but otherwise seems complete.
  12. Awesome work Scott! That R35 GTR is sweet in that color, makes me want to move the one I have further up the "to do" list.
  13. That's one classy looking Ford, beautiful work.
  14. Those are all outstanding builds, and nice variety as well.
  15. Sweet builds Ludwig. They all look great but man that 67 Cyclone really pulls on me.
  16. They all look good to me, a nice year of building you've had. Really like the '61.
  17. It really is kind of an addiction, as it's hard to pass up a kit you really like or even good deals on kits you may not have a ton of interest in. But, you can add me to the list of those who are at least trying to slow down on buying kits, though I've about doubled the amount I bought this year (probably 10 or so) compared to the last few years. I have sold off around 35 kits the last two years, as well as a few to a co-worker who is getting into the hobby.
  18. Beautiful super stocker, Tom. Love all the detail under the hood. Thanks for the tip as well about the rear axle, I'll have to remember that.
  19. Wow, love that shine! ? That is a great looking ride. Well done!
  20. Thanks Tom. Removing the side trim is a little tedious & time consuming, but not all that bad. I started by attacking the trim with an emery board, then followed up with a couple different grits of sandpaper. Slow and steady is the key, stopping to check your progress often.
  21. Thanks much guys. Yeah the red wiring isn't correct. It was the closest I had to the light orange wiring I saw in a lot of the old pics of these motors while researching it.
  22. What a beautiful builds. So glad you were able to restore the red one in memory of your friend.
  23. Sweet pair of CJ's Tom, thanks for sharing them. I need to get around to building Hubert's car sometime, to go with the Dyno Don one I already built.
  24. Even with the fitment issues you mentioned, you built it into a winner. I was kind of on the fence about picking one up, but seeing yours might just convince me to take the plunge.
  25. Had a lot of fun building this one, as inaccurate as they are. I built it to resemble the early carbureted version. Competition Resins supplied the hood and the wheels all around. Lots of parts were raided from my spare parts boxes: tires, wheel backs, seat, cam covers, oil filler caps (which you can't even see now lol), radiator hose, intake, carbs, and air intake tubes. The tubes are a little short and don't quite reach to the radiator support but I'm ok with that. The headers didn't have any collectors on them, so I fashioned some up with aluminum tubing. Up front I drilled out the headlights & turn signals, while also removing the windshield wipers. Paint is MM Hugger Orange over MM Flame Red. This little bugger was a blast, and honestly it has become one of my favorite builds.
