She's a beauty, well done!

Thanks JC. It was a little tedious but not too bad. I started off with one of those emery boards for nails to file down the trim. I began on the top side and worked my way all the way across, then followed up on the bottom side. The hardest part was the leading edge of the front fenders, naturally. I had trimmed down one end of the emery board at an angle in a way (sort of like an x-acto blade) so as to fit into those tight contours easier. Then followed all that up with finer grit sandpaper. It's not perfect but feel I got it pretty close as far as trying to keep that peak down the center fairly sharp. I am currently working on another one of these and feel I got some better results this time, a little sharper peak-wise.

Had the first snow showers of the season pass through today. Yuck, not ready for it. At least the ground is still warm enough yet it all melted on contact.

Add me to the list that likes that green too. These are nice kits and your build does it justice, congtrats.

Guess I'll contribute some to this amazing thread, don't think I've posted any here yet. Keep 'em coming if you got 'em!

Thanks guys. Thanks Roger. They came in that color, was one less thing for me to do! LOL Thanks Atin. I did have to modify them a bit to fit. I had to grind down the mounting bosses on them to get them tucked under the fenders. To pin them to the brakes I found that a short piece of toothpick was just the right diameter and worked, so I went with that. I'm sure I could have cut off the pins on the stock kit supplied wheels and used those too.

Your attention to all the details is off the charts, this is just beautiful! Under the hood, the interior, chassis, paint, I love it all!

What did you see on the road today?
bogger44 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ok, none of these were today or even yesterday, but anyways... A beauty of a 70 Cougar Eliminator at the local bar/resturant. Nice and clean 90's F150 The following rigs I saw while on a Black Hills/Yellowstone/Grand Teton trip last month. Cool little hippie VW van at the Missouri River overlook in Chamberlain, SD. Backcountry/winter tour rigs in West Yellowstone, Montana. Looks like it would be a fun job to have. Sweet F100 at our hotel in Billings, Montana. -
What a beautiful bird! Those colors are perfect, and excellent choice in going with the custom wheels, they look stellar on it.

Great idea, and it fits the '66 well. It's nice to see these big old barges built and shown. Congrats!

Thanks guys. I may just have to pick up another one of these someday.

Thanks guys, it's a fun little kit indeed.

Killer build Roger! Outstanding work on blending those kits together so beautifully. I have been a big fan of your builds for a long time, but this one might just be my new favorite. -
Love 'em all Cliff. That Charger is a beauty, sorry to hear of the real one's fate, but at least you came away with a Mach 1 afterwards. I may have to grab a can of that Light Lemon, I really like that shade.

Thanks guys! I thoroughly enjoyed this build, and really like how the wheels set it off as well. They actually came pre-painted, saved me a little time Lol. I think Aoshima really nailed the color, whatever it is.

Thanks guys! Love your take on it Paul. Very sharp!

Fresh off the bench this weekend. This is my inaugural build of a Tamiya kit, and I have to say it was one of the smoothest builds I've ever done. It literally seemed to build itself with nary a part fitment issue. It won't be my last one for sure. It's rolling on a set of Aoshima's 19 inch Volk Racing TE37 wheels. Painted in Tamiya TS-89 Pearl Blue. Sorry, I should have taken a picture of the interior before I installed it in the body, but I guess there's not a whole lot going on with it being all black anyways lol. While I was taking the pictures, someone in the neighborhood must have been having a campfire as there was some small flecks of ash coming down. I did my best to keep it clean during the shoot, but did miss some on a couple pics.

Nice build Tim! These are fun little kits.

Another well executed build Randy! Just as always with your builds. Real nice work on the instrument cluster. Even though I need another kit like I need another hole in the head, I do want to add this one to my collection.

Thanks, not sure if you wanted to know the year of the car or when it was issued, but they call it a '27 and it was re-issued around 10 years ago. If I found that kit, I'd have to Lol! Thanks a lot. Thanks for the comments everyone!

This was a quick build to fill some time during my other current project. A very simple and basic kit as we all know, but it builds well and was a lot of fun. She's completely box stock with the exception of two items, I added a better looking distributor and sourced a transmission from my parts box since the kit doesn't have one. Paint is Testors Mystic Emerald & Duplicolor Performance White. It's not really a subject I build often, but it was kinda refreshing and will look good on the shelf. Thanks for lookin' and any comments/questions. Oh yeah, I dumped the kit radiator hose for a piece of braided looking elastic thread.

Love it, love it, love it! Just the way I'd want it if I had a 1:1.
