What if Jungle Jim had not died in 1977, would he have been crazy enough to try something different like monster trucks? I think he would!! He was a showman, and what better place for a showman in the late 80's and early 90's than match racing with Bigfoot? Anyway, this is a fictitious Jungle Jim rendition of a Chevy Silverado monster truck. I used the USA-1 Revell kit and some unused Jungle Jim funny car decals to make this mostly box stock truck. It's painted with Tamiya light metallic blue with a Tamiya brown and desert yellow interior. The tires and under carriage are slightly weathered. I used a Competition Resins Crower 8 port injector and scoop, and a parts box blower. It was just a fun, quick, "what if" build.

Mike, you are truly a model "builder". That is some amazing work! I'm happy when I get the contents of the parts in the box to come together to make a decent looking model. This is going to be one nice looking altered. -

Thank you all for the kind words! I'm getting ready to start on a monster truck for something different and the Wild Willie Bosch funny car with Slixx decals.

Nothing wrong with that build, nice and clean, and i love the color combination.

Built this funny car using the Revell Motorsports Jungle Jim Vega kit with Chuck Boerner decals. The kit was a real pain, lots of flash and ill fitting parts, I spent a lot of time trying to clean it all up. I used parts from Top Studio, Competition Resins, and Pro Tech to detail it. It's painted Tamiya Mica Red and cleared with Tamiya clear and uses silver beading wire for the parachute cord. It definitely tested my patience, but I'm happy with the results.

Thanks everyone!! I learned patience pays off when masking and painting multiple colors. I used a variety of Tamiya tape, blue masking tape, Silly Putty, and liquid mask. The only one that i had issues with was the liquid mask. Found that for me it worked ok for large areas, not for fine work.

This is a box stock build of the Tamiya Porsche Carrera. It is painted with Tamiya French Blue and coated with Tamiya clear. I built it mostly as a quick build and to practice my masking and painting. There is no engine, only the bottom half, and the chassis had to be masked and painted in several colors. Other than all the masking and detail painting the kit went together well like all Tamiya kits.

Very nice work!! That was the first large scale model I ever built back in the late 70's, always loved that kit.
