What probably should have been a mid 60's fantasy best-of-both-world's sports car, doesn't work for me at all: a Cobra with a E-type Jaguar style front (and trunk lid), some Ferrari elements thrown in - it is just ugly, the whole proportions are not right! Why didn't they do an Apollo instead (also known as "Thorndyke Special" from Herbie, the love bug) ? This does look right and is a real car (even if built in small numbers with the Buick V8) - if it must have been an "American exotic" !

Hi Warren, the (now) ivory color suits this IH very well - looks like a typical fleet truck. I've read somewhere (don't remember where) that the bumpers have been cut back then to avoid tire damage by bent bumpers which could cut into the rubber when a truck hit a deere at highway speeds. I've got no idea if this might be a plausible explanation !? Maybe any of the truckers here on the forum knows more about this?

I believe there was no '57 HT and no '55 Convertible - please correct me if I'm wrong. 30 years ago, I bought two of them each and made a '55 Convertible in cutting off the roof from the HT and re-attached it onto the '57 convertible to get a '57 Hardtop so that would result in having HT, Convertible and Nomad of both years.
