  1. Thanks, Paul - I did not have any problems with the decals, but I built the kit when it was new. I don't know how the decals behave more than 30 years later (if you pick up an original issue). The only weakness is : the yellow stripes are not really opaque - you can see that on the right front fender between headlight bezel and wheel well: I goofed a little bit, and so the purple shines through - also I misplaced the horizontal stripe on the nose a little bit - is is not exactly centered - everything should have been put about 1 mm to the left side, then the longitudinal stripes on the nose section also would have been correctly positioned.
  2. Nice models, Gary - which wheels did you use ? (I have a Tamiya slot-car body/reissue and want to combine this also with a Minicraft 250 LM)
  3. x 2 ! Iwill also tackle a lightweight soetime in the future.
  4. You DID remember correctly, Mike - nice modei of "Big Bertha" by the way !
  5. Very good looking livery, Bruce - looks like Tamiya's 956 kit.
  6. C'est une voiture formidable, Anders - marvellous, as are all of your models! And nice photography with a fitting background, too. I have avoided this kit up to now (I have 2 nice 1/24 Hachette diecasts), but I've been tempted now - only kit issue as far as I can see: the front track looks a bit too wide.
  7. NIce collection Gary. of some seldom seen Porsches - besides the 1967 907 longtail (Heller kit?) what is this? It looks a bit like a 910.
  8. Cool models, Mike - fantastic the 1/87 (!) Audi racer - unbelievable; I tried a few 1/43 race car models 30 years ago, and gave up (too small!)
  9. Very nice build in a perfect color combo !
  10. Thanks to Scott for his reply - I've built several Italeri Ferraris and know their weak points: wheels/tires and lots of sink marks as well as omitments and simplifications in certain areas.
  11. x 2 - I second that - and of my favorite driver, too !
  12. Good looking rare Volvo - in 2011 I took a photo of an old, worn-out dump truck during my holidays on the Greek Island of Kos:
  13. Super nice, Rich - as we are used to see from you ! I will check some of the links as soon as I find more time.
  14. Awesome Daytona - is this Tom Tanner's Scale Design kit? (It looks different than my two unbuilt Italeri kits, but they are stored away so I can't compare yet)
  15. Excellent models from Scott, Gary - especially the 412 P, the '65 7-litre-Ford GT, but also the TR250 and the Cunningham - marvellous!
  16. Very nice collection, Gary - I especially like the 3 white Jaguars.
  17. Together with the Lotus 49 and the Ferrari 312 of the same year, certainly the best looking F 1 racer of the 1960's. And your model - just fabulous ! Almost impossible to tell from the real car - simply perfect !
  18. Very good-looking 910 in after-race-condition. I have never seen a model of this 910 (Hanrioud/Wicky, DNF).
  19. Very well done,Pat - especially also the International Esso tanker - please show us more!
  20. Thanks, fellows, for finding these 2 nice - they are certainly not my best effort.
  21. Thanks, Gary - from your Vettes I would pick the Cunningham Corvette - the classic white livery with double blue stripes suits it very well. Choosing between Cobras is impossible, so I would take the AC Ace.
  22. Thanks, Carl !
  23. I can imagine that - I had this one, too. After checking the kit contents, I sold it off again.
  24. Here are my other Le Mans participants in chronological order - most or all already posted here the other day. 1960: Ferrari GT 250 SWB (modified 1/24 ESCI kit): Noblet/Elde - 6th overall, 3rd in class: 1965: Ferrari 250 LM (1/24 Academy/Minicraft) Dumay/Gosselin 2nd overall 1966: Ford GT40 Mk II (1/24 Fujimi) Miles/Hulme 2nd overall 1966: Alpine Renault A 210 (1/24 Heller) Cheinisse/Delageneste 11th overall, 2nd in class 1967: Ferrari 330 P3/4 AKA 412 P (1/24 Union/Heller re-issue) Müller/Guichet DNF (engine) 1978: Porsche 936/78 (1/24 Tamiya) Barth/Wollek/Ickx 2nd overall 1987: Jaguar XJR-8 LM (1/24 Hasegawa) Watson/Lammers/Percy DNF (accident) Well, that's all for now - I do have several unbuilt Le Mans racers in my stash to do for the future....
