    no worries, the mind sometimes plays tricks on us, anyway the reason I remember the date is that I visited the RCHTA show that year and together wit Dean Milano , organised the Hobby Heaven party. Okey was a exhibitor at the show and visited the HH party.

    IIRC that was 2003ish, the police car also had vacu formed glass included and a much better newly designed decal sheet.

    Personally I always preferred the 1/24th scale of the Monograms, but later I went for subject matter over scale, besides it's not because something is labeled in a certain scale, that it is, case in point some of the AMC kits by Jo-Han. Build what you like, all the rest is not worth worrying about Cheers Luc

    I enter this one....it was out in the 80s then everything gets a little fuzzy on the whereabouts or condition of the tooling. Even if they don't find it, or fell off a forklift or so, no biggie...cuz the late 90s designed '71 Charger kit has the guts one needs to put under a newly designed shell preferably a '72 with the elastomer bumper option, what do you you all say, yea or nay?     Mark guessed one, the other was a rather great one, but only as an annual That makes 3 As many of you know the Covit-19 pandemic, brought the classic hobbies under the attention of the general public again, with soaring sales as a result, and personally do hope that many newbies stick with this wonderful hobby, but despite the great efforts that specific company makes, retrieving and updating many childhood dream kits, I don't think IMHO that the aforementioned releases notwithstanding the great subject matter, are helping the cause.     Two kits I rather would not see offered to a novice builder, which despite the great box-art rather harm than promote the hobby. But that's just my opinion.

    Can't remember the last time I bought on ebay, cuz shipping from the US to Europe has been going crazy, as are the import duties, which take all the fun out off it. Now I again hop at brick and mortar stores or at shows, but since Covit-19 BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH I haven't bought anything, just the opposite, gave 300 kits in consignment with a specialty dealer nearby.     Dunno what's going on, but asked a friend who happens to have one of these on his bench and he says, that the tires which are included in this kit fit the rims and backings. so maybe they're newly tooled tires or they retooled the rims (maybe Tim Boyd can investigate).....anyway he send some pics to show they do fit.     Funny...before Round2 re-released those old amt/mpc/ertl trucks, they changed hands for much more and no one really complained

    Dear hobby friends,


    Remember January 1st?... Wishing your loved ones and friends all the best, in this which we thought would be a great new year!
    Now we know better, in fact, the roller-coaster ride is still not over, but in these uncanny times, we find comfort with family and friends and keep our sanity through our hobby, in this case, the love of building/collecting plastic scale models.
    Through this pandemic model kit building together with other "classic pastimes" gained momentum, and I'm thinking maybe a good time for us ambassadors of this Great Hobby here on the Model Cars Magazine Forum to help trying to find out the definition of that perfect kit in whatever segment.

    So here goes...
    What makes you decide to buy a certain model kit, is it?
     -subject matter/theme; muscle cars, sports rally, cars, pickups, hotrods, racing, classics, boat, plane, other...?
     -does the box art sometimes make you purchase something you really didn't plan to, if so, give an example of such a kit?
     -does the manufacturer brand influence your buying choice, and if so, which is your preferred and least preferred and why?
     -what do you love about building a model kit and what's the least favorite part of the process?
     -does a high parts count scare you as too much of a challenge, or does a low parts count make you feel the product could be toylike?
     -what type of kit do you prefer (glue, snap, full detail, curbside)?
     -do you like building options, and if so, what (engine upgrade, choice of wheels, decals, other)?
     -if you wish to give manufacturers a "non-subject matter" suggestion what would it be?


    Now, something totally different, let's assume you had all the money in the world, a very understanding wife, thus no boundaries whatsoever and would like to start up an automotive collection, which 7 (real, NOT model kits!!!) vehicles, one for each day of the week, would you like to own, operate, have on display in your exuberant mancave... whatever...like, for instance, a replica of the Chrysler Norseman!

    I'd like the Volvo N10, but with plastic chassis and axles....but doubt it will ever happen, not a question of wanting but more one of too much of retooling costs.
