  1. Say Ben...what ever happened to the plans of an Australian model company to develop and produce two model kits of Australian trucks and one heavy duty trailer?
  2. CAD data I suppose.
  3. IMHO a great start of the New Year, Revell Germany helps me saving money
  4. Yes and no. Yes I'm having a week off, no I'm working the honey do list, but in the past a few guys who are/were in retail posted here, so kinda hoping they will chip in. And yes I'm not in top condition, too many worries, 2020 was a year to forget on too many levels and '21 doesn't look to bright either, but how unlikely it may seem for some, this board keeps me sane, my escape. ?
  5. still in selling mode...last Sept. I gave 300 kits in concession and today brought him 40 more....gonna repeat this process several times more, in the coming months so that in the end I have a stash with must haves (and partly build) only. (no need to send a PM about it, all goes through this vendor) Old kits (modelers-heaven.be)
  6. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I edited the OP do hope it's better now and if not please say so! Luc
  7. Hi all, The surface of this topic has been touched in several other treads, but would like, with the help of you guys, to define the term "weekend modeler" and what they typically shop for. Now before some of you say, stop this nonsense and build a model, yes please do ? But all kidding aside, if weekend modelers are responsible for up to 90% of model kit sales (that is a lot of buying power), it influences the decisions made by the spin doctors behind those pearly gates ?of model kit Walhalla (industry) on what should be released. Therefore, please let us in a civilized non aggravated way brainstorm on this... So, if you stop by your favorite well-stocked Hobby Lobby, Hobby Town USA, Local Hobby shop, looking for a new addition to your collection or picking up some paint, glue or other model supplies, do you notice by looking at the shelves or observing / talking with people who buy/sell model kits what the non-lunatic fringe buyer purchases or is interested in? Does it look like they always buy the same (type of) kit, similar subject matter, emptying the shelves of that product in the store. Do they seem loyal to a specific brand? Do they shop in a certain price bracket? Do they pass on certain (type of) kits? Who is that typical non-lunatic fringe buyer, is it a guy, what age, gearhead or office guy, etc....or is it still a mom buying a present for little Johnny? Not an easy task to find out, but maybe some of you noticed, the behavior of this special kind of breed of model kit builders, if not get yourself a trench coat, hat, a magnifying glass and find out, Ha! Thanks, and for later enjoy the end of the year celebrations! Cheers Luc
  8. On my shopping list for '22
  9. Unless it's an impulse buy Yes, condemning a whole product line because of one kit is an gross overreaction, but feeling mad isn't about being rational, don't wanna upset those much needed weekend modelers do we! Oh yeah, just my humble opinion, I'm not the enemy here, in fact I care a lot about this beautiful hobby.
  10. Perfectly understandable Mike, but despite the latest superb releases, there have been recent reissues, which don't exactly promote the hobby to John Q Public/The weekend modeler and risk to be a first and final sale for the brand in question, something I have a hard time understanding, but who knows and I see this the wrong way, but the following saying keeps popping up in my head; fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! Cheers Luc
  11. Thanks Rob! Thought that would be a problem area, a separate insert-able grille piece would've prevented that.
  12. Rob, how does the "end caps" of the fenders look like, free of sink marks? Thanks! and yes it's certainly an improvement over the previous faux '71s
  13. Nothing which can't be sorted by adding some plastic stock, but still odd that Round-2 didn't provide some sort inner cargo door cover. For the rest neat little kit!
  14. Bold statement to make. Building model kits is a learning curve, and yes some manufacturers and require more dry-fitting and adjusting before a bonding agent is applied then others, but unbuildable no, more of a challenge yes. Anyway maybe look at some videos from this guy, maybe you'll find the model that suits you the best and increase the skill lever as you go
  15. though year, so nothing hobby wise...rather selling, '21 looks more of the same, hopefully '22 will be brighter.
  16. Found this...
  17. Just learned that Chris Hpiguy will air a build review on Youtube of this kit Dec. 26th.
  18. would be awesome Casey, but as much as I would love to see this materialize as a 1/25th scale model kit, I'm not holding my breath....
  19. Sci-fi and automotive.... But more likely is the following one... Or....
  20. Personally I would try to get a replacement part, as they do send to North America, and show them the problem too The following form let you send a picture to their customer service department. Revell warranty request – Revell GmbH (revell-service.de)
  21. Hey guys, Just stumbled on the following... https://www.die-leitplanke.de/herzlich-willkommen/bausatz-neuheiten/revell-vw-t-bus-m-1-24/ Image courtesy of Guido Kehder, please see above link for more and detailed photo's of this new kit.
  22. Hmm, maybe the Dr. Oetker van as our kitchen stowes many of their products, the rest...not my cup of tea sadly. BTW is this an official list? cuz didn't see anything announced on the Revell site.
  23. Interesting topic Casey and one which I've been advocating since Round-2 took over full ownership of the Amt/mpc legacy and hardware The subject matter I would choose:. - '71-'76 Pontiac Firebirds - '68-'69 Dodge Coronet - '70-'71 Plymouth 'Cuda - '70-'71 Dodge Challenger - 71-'72 Plymouth Roadrunner - '72-'76 Dodge Tradesman Van Updated promo style (separate hoods, clear head and tail-lamps) and all shut-panel lines engraved, would be even better if they would do the interior bckets with separate side-panels snap styles, but that's probably pushing it
  24. Absolutely a fan of the Monogram Firebird kits, I never had their snap-tite Camaro so can't comment on that.
