this look bad a$$, I like what I'm seeing, I wonder how many more of these vintage kits Round-2 could sell, if they would include resto-mod parts, to dress up this post fuel crisis mid size econobox

Moebius 67-72 Ford Pick-up news
Luc Janssens replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I agree, now they saturated the market, and when the 4x4s finally come out, they could very well become shelf sitters Or they will have to dress them up, with optional aftermarket wheels, camper top / roll bar etc.... -
In the mid '90 I past by a Cadillac dealership in Palm Springs, and liked the Eldo's with vinyl top he had on the lot. Wouldn't mind having this one, to drive across the US.....

When working at GM in Antwerp we did a special run of white Astra's with a black roof and liked the combo. It works very well on the Camaro too, great job Jonathan!

I'll add the ones I remember, amt '64 Grand Prix, and the original issue '65 too, then there is the mpc '69 Poncho G/P

Moebius '65 Mercury Comet Cyclone news
Luc Janssens replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I don't doubt that for a minute Steve, IMHO they should look into a working with not only one big tool but with a cluster of smaller tools, which in configuration a, b, c, d: can eject sku x; in a, b, e, d: sku y; and in a, c, d, f: sku z. Just my humble opinion of course, and let there be no doubt I like what Moebius is cranking out, only wish the 4x4 versions of the Ford P/U tool would hit the market sooner. -

I'd say they pick their subjects very carefully, on the merit of possible siblings (Bean counting ;^) The only thing I find strange is their, to me, production unfriendly parts arrangements, when checking the sprue's, but there may be logic in the madness, Dave? -
IIRC that kit was never designed to have both the custom (C) and the stock (S) parts in one shot, so Round-2 runs the tool in configuration S, then in C, maybe with some parts blocked off if, it doesn't interfere with the flow of the plastic, others maybe clipped off, and tossed in the bin....

Brian James Trailer *UPDATED* 8/23/16*
Luc Janssens replied to martinfan5's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Was going through my stock, and my eye fell on a Tamiya Jeep Grand Cherokee, opened it, went though the instructions, and saw that it has a trailer hitch (actually the braces which attach to the chassis, and it has a mounting plate for the hitch) Since these Jeeps were popular in Europe, it makes them an excellent towing vehicle for this trailer. -
Keep on fighting Harry!

On the first paragraph, thought that was common knowledge and about Belgium that's how I read it, If I misunderstood, my apology. Secundo if the collectors and builders you mention, represent serious buying power, it will be re-produced, I don't know of any company which isn't in it for the money, but think the track record of previous sets make the decision makers vote against, or at least gun shy., but that's my opinion and maybe next year a manufacturer will prove me wrong...

IMHO such part pack set should be sold via their customer service department, cuz when going retail, beefs up the price due to extra hands the product passes through and the fancy package it needs to attract attention and size to make it less vulnerable to shop lifting. The company's website, FB and other social media can be used to promote the product, which can be pre-ordered, to determine volume, and when the product comes into the warehouse, have some temps mail it all out to the customers...
-
Here that other member, I wasn't talking about Belgium, Belgium means nothing volume wise, except in numbers of politicians per capita.

Hmm... I'm following you in your 1st hand build report, I wonder what could've caused the difficulties you ran into, then a post later you tone down your comments....I notice, and now I am the bad guy? A clear cut example of "the best defense is a good offense?! Anyway enough of this silliness, lets keep us focused on what this board is about, providing accurate info to build the best possible model, by using info dispensed by a collective of knowledgeable people all in their own field.
-
That is what I hear too, people want this or that model, but not both at the same time, mostly because of the price. The only combo that does well, is wrapping 4 different kits together and selling them at Walmart "we sell for less" prices. Good for Christmas promotions maybe, but not to get in enough funding for all these great subjects which have been released in this post wallyworld era

I wish they would breathe new life into these trucks by updating them, some need clear lenses instead of molded in chrome headlights, other would benefit by adding 4x4 parts roughening them up a bit. Just like in the jeans commercials in the past, cowboy rough terrain and a 4x4 pickup...

A few comments Form follows function and sometimes less is more, is my motto. a full detail and snapper from the same tooling, but in another configuration, is always a compromise, remember the 4th gen F-cars from Monogram? In the past whenever you saw first shots being built, it was in raw plastic, maybe manufactures before assembling should paint the parts, if don't do it already, (Tim might know) could it be they don't build in enough tolerance in the 3D files, also with the final polishing of the tool part get slightly bigger except for the mounting holes....food for thought.. Like Tim I come from automotive, built a lot of prototype and pilot cars, and remember when receiving painted bodies we all of a sudden had fit and alignment problems, not only due to the paint but also due to baking the paint, that latter now is very unlikely with building a plastic model kit, even when you put it in the food dehydrator....

With pickups kits being in demand, I wonder why no '60 Chevy P/U re-release?

A denigrating term used to describe the enthusiast model car kit builders...IIRC it has it's origin with a former Ertl Manager.
