  1. Also, some of the later cars were molded in styrene which didn't warp. Many simple versions as John stated were sold in hang bags at Supermarkets for a mighty sum of $1.
  2. It does take determination. I built my first one (yellow plastic version) about 45 years ago. I was younger and more intrepid then, but the top operated too.
  3. Who delivered your package, Ace Ventura?
  4. My dad bought a brand new 62 Impala too with a 283 automatic. He always complained that it was really slow ( that year 283 had 175bhp) . My brother had a used 62 Impala with a 327 /250 bhp powerglide. It was better than the 283, except on gasoline.
  5. Michelle, did you use a 1969 Barracuda and paint the tail lights to a 1968?
  6. I have often thought about converting a drag racing body to stock . You did a great job.
  7. wow! thanks Charlie
  8. I tried painting white letters on tire with enamel paints in the '70s and found that the paint never dried, just stayed sticky forever. I used white latex house paint and it dried perfectly with no rubber paint interaction.
  9. This is a great kit. Can't wait to see it finished by you
  10. Those skinny Revell Good-Years are carnivorus to plastic. maybe worse than AMT or MPC tires. Painting the tires with black latex paint may protect from damage.
  11. Gary, I am fine,as is your 1963 Grand Prix kit you sold me. I just discovered the Gunzi 1957 chevy existed thanks to you. I don't see any of these kits available outside of Japan and the $100 price is kind of steep. It looks like it can be built as a convertible as it has sunvisors.
  12. While the original AMT 1957 Chevy seems too simple for 2021, it was cutting edge for 1963
  13. So nicely done, it looks like 1/25. Is this the Japanese kit?
  14. I'm not going to criticize this kit as you understand it better than most people do. As a custom , it is awesome
  15. I used them in a boat too.
  16. I hated 8 tracks as the players always ate the tapes
  17. I believe the Buddy L gas pumps are 1/24 not 1/25 so yes, they are a little big
  18. That was white plastic but UV or something else has discolored the plastic.
  19. Snake, You asked me to start re-building the rebuilders . I figured a foto would explain why I won't bother. I don't think I have enough time left to fix a lot of my builders. Spending some time in the hospital recently reduced model time
  20. I just built new Round2 Cutlass convertible. The old builders are POSs.
  21. I have 3 original 1964 Cutlasses. I need to rethink what I need to do with them.
  22. you have a a Pre-ERTL 1969 Cougar body with 390 and XR7 emblems. The emblems are missing on the recent Round2 kit. The original kit body has the upscale interior. ERTL revised it to a standard interior. At least I know Hart's parts resin fit the AMT body; so thanks for showing those pictures.
  23. I live in New England and there are NO Ollies near me. Even if Ollies charged $12.99, it wouldn't matter to me. I visited Atlanta a few years ago and there were a few Ollies in the area. I imagine Round2 made some changes to the new kit and wonder if buyers can say they are the same; unless you have both kits. Ollies has a lot of kits nobody really wants so they are cheap.
  24. Let me get this straight; this is an AMT 1969 XR7 body using resin MPC copy 1970 hood and bumpers?
