  1. What hasn't been said, is that promo models of the 1960s helped subsidized the cost of models and their retail costs.
  2. This is a great job on a forgotten car and kit. Looks awesome as a convertible
  3. I was not crazy about the "FOR 68" AMT kits when I was a kid. Now I kind of like them. This Vette kit compares to the Impala kit. Not accurate, but it doesn't matter anymore. It's a piece of history
  4. That's true. They cut more than one corner.
  5. I like this model. The MPC post 1975 Camaros never had the correct exhaust. Dual exhaust with no cat converter Is just wrong. I know your model will look nice.
  6. Which Ecto-1 kit is better, the AMT or Polar LIghts?
  7. I just built the Buyers Choice kit It was stock with all of the 1964 kit parts.
  8. I like the separate red clear taillights on the original. Some poeple say that the nice 1963 409 engine was used for the annual 1964 kit. That horrible one in the Ertl and later just is not suitable. I believe that the current kit was created by AMT before the strike and sale to Matchbox. Maybe it was going to be another Countdown kit?
  9. This is my favorite kit
  10. I bought a few 68 galaxie hoods from missing link too so i could finish some builder Galaxies
  11. Where did the wheels and tires com from?
  12. THis release comes with a convertible boot which is nice
  13. That's true. The 1972 and 1973 small bumpers were hatchbacks.
  14. I applaud Round2 for bringing back these old kits. My fear is inflation will make buying them more difficult. The approaching $40 per kit might become a deal breaker. At $20 a few years ago, I would buy all the new ones, even multiples of the ones that I really liked. That's life.
  15. I cut the hood open on a 1971 Vega promo model. Easy peasy. I used the Amt chassis and V8 engine .
  16. I wish Round2 would return the clear side glass that AMT put in the 1965 annual kit. In the case of this Bonneville, it was curved glass.
  17. People like to poo poo this MPC GTO kit. You did such a good job on it that it proves that it can look good.
  18. The Countdown issue of this Bonneville included Firestone 500s. The worst tires ever sold. I had one explode at 70 mph.
  19. When I was in the Army in 1979, Ft Belvoir had Dodge Aspens
  20. Great job on this model. I attempted to do the same job to an AMT 1970 Impala kit. Didn't get you results. Send Revell a foto of your 1969 SS427 and tell them this is a muscle car they can do.
  21. The AMT 1964 Impala kit is fine. It's technologically impaired that's all. Of course the Revell kit has more detail, but the AMT was great for 10 year old kids such as me at the time. It originally came with working headlights and tail lights in the kit. Your model will be awesome in the end I'm sure.
  22. Tommy, you did a great job on this kit. It is a much maligned kit. My onlt complaint is the poor tail lights. With a few upgrades, I think it can be a nice build as you can see how Tommy has done.
  23. They both look good to me
  24. The asian mentality is manufacture in batches. Whoa to those that want in between batches. Assume that you will never see another batch.
  25. This build looks great
