The AMT was endorsed by Ford and made as a promo model. For this reason , the AMT lacked chassis detail. MPC had a clean slate and built ther's as a model kit.
It's six of one, half dozen of the other, I guess
This kit is a decendant of the original 1968-1970 MPC Charger. I was always impressed by the exhaust tips of this kit (also the Coronets) and how nice they loof on the finished model
I totally agree. Old Johan kits are dead as a doorknob. USA Oldies were a feable attempt at competing with AMT's Street Rods kits in the mid 1970's. Last word: How do you make a million dollars selling model kits? Start with two million.
The 1976 Caprice kit has a leftover 427 engine from the 1968 Impala.
I always questioned the dual exhaust with single cat converter. Maybe somebody has information about the real 454 exhaust in 1976.
The 1963 NOVA SS convertible was a one year (Nova/SS/ convertible) offerring . No SS in 1962. I had read that Chevy was going to drop the Nova hardtop in 1964 but ultimately decided to keep it. Too bad Chevy didn't keep the convertible in 1964 and 1965.
I am beginning to think that this Revell 1971 Mustang is dead. Revell hasn't leaked one piece of information for a very long time and then Round2 announced their own.
Along the same lines, I had the original 1967 annual MPC kit. The Revell is better and even the original AMT is better but not as good as the Revell. Box art is about what you get withe reissue.
