  1. Plus there's a radio report about the missing car and the dispatcher says it's a '73 - and in the final explosion it's a '63 again. This was such a mess it even made local talk radio on WGN the next day.
  2. I have a conversion project in mind that will require the combination of two bodies; one is very easy to find in kit form and the other is very rarely found except as a promo. What glue will adhere to both the Cycolac promo plastic and the styrene well?
  3. It's what's left of the original ('59 IIRC?) Revell VW Bus kit, first turned into a van as the Bed Bug with radiused (but not flared) rear wheel wells; the VW emblem became a peace sign and it still had stock bumpers and widened steel wheels. The California Roller was more customized.
  4. Johnny, if you still want Woodlites, these 3D printed ones were on Shapeways last year:: https://www.shapeways.com/product/HPXEELYX4/1-24-1-25-hot-rod-woodlite-headlights?optionId=60915247&li=ostatus The MPC Barris Bed Buggy also had a set. Keep fighting the good fight - looking forward to more!
  5. Good luck on the Nova! Do you need taillight bezels? I've cast some. If you want a hood with no hole in it there are three on eBay right now from seller vintagemodelcarparts. https://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_odkw=&_ssn=vintagemodelcarparts&_armrs=1&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2046732.m570.l1313.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xnova+hood.TRS0&_nkw=nova+hood&_sacat=0
  6. Poured a second mold yesterday, made a tiny trim on the first and cast four '62 Chrysler wheelcovers (two in the pot right now). Also took the junk body and very very very carefully removed both front fender spears as practice for doing it on the two good bodies. Started with the tip of a #11 blade and finished with a Tamiya 0.1mm photoetched saw. One lost a small chunk; second came off OK. Why? The trim curves upward on the Revell body and I can't let that go, right Mr. Guthmiller and Mr. Obsessive?
  7. Numbers are close; font's a bit off (and all characters should be bolder). A decent effort.
  8. Just now got a glass unit for the '66 Skylark; surprised I was the only bidder since the bare body jumped to $71 in the last seconds. Also hit HL and Michael's yesterday; finally picked up some Testor's clamps with the 50% off coupon because the model selection was... what it's been for a long time. The Testor's enamel detail washes were on clearance for $3.79 each so I grabbed a few. HL didn't have anything new on the shelves; there were a few gaps but for older kits. I lucked out finding the guy who works the model section and he said they had one (?!?) '67 Chevy come in but it wouldn't be stocked until maybe Friday .
  9. I'd like to see some old Matchbox Superfasts "accidentally" get onto the track - '64 Grand Prix vs. Rolls Royce Silver Shadow vs. MG 1100 vs. '67 Mercury wagon...
  10. Got the last tweak done on the '62 Chrysler wheelcover; used Bondic to fill/blend the center and touch up a couple gaps at the rim, added the back with the mounting ring and now it's in the pressure pot for the first mold. Also pinned, braced and glued the Chrysler's broken windshield header back together straight; a little trimming once it's dry and then it can be reattached to the A-pillars. Now to figure a way to straighten those upward-curved front fender spears... also need to make a vacuform master for the windshield (and find someone to vacuform it).
  11. AMT 1964 Falcon hardtop has a bunch of rally equipment; #6, the Rally Equipment Board, has lots of stuff neatly molded in relief (plugs, hoses, wiper blades, lower control arm, etc.):
  12. Since it's a four-door, the corners of the bottom of the back seat should be rounded; easy enough fix.
  13. I thought Popeye drove a Pontiac.
  14. I've cast up a few flat-backed wheel spiders and could send you a set. This is the master: Tom P. took a crack at a mold that had the thicker back that could be drilled for an axle hole; had trouble keeping bubbles out of the spokes. I should try to do another mold.
  15. Which explains why he's going the wrong way on the banked oval. At least when this comic book artist ripped it off, he got the angle right (even if it was airborne):
  16. Here we go - a lot better than the original, at least to me, and (with a bit more tweaking) closer to the real thing:
  17. Well, well. What have we here? Looks like AMT had a '61 Galaxie four-door hardtop promo in the pipeline at some point, like they did with the '60 - but in this case it didn't get that far, and we got the two-door notchback promo instead (later re-purposed as the Styline kit). Another item for the Ghost Kits list?
