  1. Great looking parts, should yield a fantastic looking build Ok I'll bite..whats a Wig Wag, and how's it work
  2. Nice looking mock up! Love the red spokes
  3. Cheapo hairspray works great for chipping paint if anyone is interested.
  4. Fantastic color! Too bad about the decals peeling off, I'd be tempted to mask and paint them
  5. I just had to fix those engraved doors, chopped up a fresh sheet of .020" and that was done. I'm so much happier with them now. They just need slam locks. I ordered several sheets of plastruct diamond plate for the fire trucks, since they don't rely on dirt for traction lol. I chatted w our town fire chief today, and he brought photos of our towns apparatus. I was blown away when he showed me our towns Ford LS ! Hard to believe its a 1992 , and looks like new!! I'm planning a similar color scheme of white / safety lime green aka slime lime.
  6. Haha, probably right. I run cnc machines for engine timing systems, so metric is faster for me. I just flip inch to mm and hack away lol
  7. Sweet looking truck, nailed the tires too
  8. Excellent work ! I really struggle figuring out scale rulers, probably wayyy overthinking it.
  9. Yeah I'd love add another puppy to the shelf eventually. Guess it would need to be one of Global scales cabs now
  10. Thanks, hoping for a quick build during the holiday break
  11. Wait what ??? He's building something shiny, and with chrome your all asking right??? Yes, this build and the next will have both. This is completely different from what I usually build, my Dad noticed I hadn't built a fire truck yet..so the squirrels were let in the house. This is part 1 of 3, and the easier of the group. I'm planning a tanker, this rescue truck, and lastly an ariel or Quint. So...I ordered a rescue body off the auction site. The main build will be based off the Ford Louisville short hauler. A newer, LS 9000 hood from Plaskit is being shipped.I assembled the beautiful rescue body, and heres a quick mock up of where I headed. Any feedback, comments or concerns welcome! Closeup of the engraved details this arrived with Jeff
  12. Nice looking chop!
  13. Glad you found the info, and hoping you share the process along the way!
  14. The kit hood is actually short vs the real truck Clyde II by a fair amount. Somewhere there was an article about a modeler correcting it. I recall he scratched the longer portion of the hood. Maybe Scale Auto magazine was where I saw it...I'm sure someone here can say
  15. Wow your grill looks fantastic! I was going to assume Alclad, based on the great chrome sheen. Love the red color on the fenders too..care to share what that is?? Keep up the great work
  16. Nothing like a short framed Mack w big tires lol
  17. I was also gonna suggest the Gaahleri swallowtail. I just received mine and dying to try it.
  18. Outstanding work Yeah don't sweat the paint scratches, the mechanic will touch them up !
  19. Whats that boxy structure in front of the funnel you drilled holes into for ? I see it in the photos, wondering what it was for
  20. Killer work, almost missed the slot between the spring packs
  21. Amazing work so far on Tirpitz, I've always wanted to tackle this ship and Yamato. I'm currently working on CVN 76, and realizing how quickly shelf space disappears lol
  22. Excellent work dealing with this old kit! I've tried a couple times to build one, only get discouraged and shelve it
