  1. Which one are you thinking of so I can look thru the stash
  2. Following along! Love those old Chevy trucks, our local FD had a few
  3. Thanks ! I have some of these in the stash, but wanted to avoid cutting out slots for them in the doors.
  4. Glad to have you following along! I scored the Louisville kit yesterday, so I can begin to build up a roller. My hoods being shipped out this week, I need to settle on the engine.
  5. Okay, I ordered several sets of KFS slam locks from ST supply. Now begs the question which style would make more sense between the round or rectangular? Most photos I've seen show a round lock, guess it depends on fire company
  6. Kinda like our puppy staring at our dinner plates lol so longingly begging for a snack
  7. Excellent exactly what I was looking for thanks !
  8. Sitting w the trouble makers on this build, have my snacks ready
  9. I'm hunting for the PE slam locks now
  10. My combo for 2024, T800 conversion hauling a scratchbuilt Trail King bottom dump trailer. My 1/350 bird farm really distracted me from finishing many builds.. Hopefully 25 is more productive! The crew is storing provisions now lol
  11. A trick I learned to remove parts off the supports is using a hot knife to melt the rods away. Their commonly used in wood burning sets. I like to melt the parts off, then snip the rest away w fingernail clippers.
  12. Great looking parts, should yield a fantastic looking build Ok I'll bite..whats a Wig Wag, and how's it work
  13. Nice looking mock up! Love the red spokes
  14. Cheapo hairspray works great for chipping paint if anyone is interested.
  15. Fantastic color! Too bad about the decals peeling off, I'd be tempted to mask and paint them
  16. I just had to fix those engraved doors, chopped up a fresh sheet of .020" and that was done. I'm so much happier with them now. They just need slam locks. I ordered several sheets of plastruct diamond plate for the fire trucks, since they don't rely on dirt for traction lol. I chatted w our town fire chief today, and he brought photos of our towns apparatus. I was blown away when he showed me our towns Ford LS ! Hard to believe its a 1992 , and looks like new!! I'm planning a similar color scheme of white / safety lime green aka slime lime.
  17. Haha, probably right. I run cnc machines for engine timing systems, so metric is faster for me. I just flip inch to mm and hack away lol
  18. Sweet looking truck, nailed the tires too
  19. Excellent work ! I really struggle figuring out scale rulers, probably wayyy overthinking it.
  20. Yeah I'd love add another puppy to the shelf eventually. Guess it would need to be one of Global scales cabs now
  21. Thanks, hoping for a quick build during the holiday break
  22. Wait what ??? He's building something shiny, and with chrome your all asking right??? Yes, this build and the next will have both. This is completely different from what I usually build, my Dad noticed I hadn't built a fire truck yet..so the squirrels were let in the house. This is part 1 of 3, and the easier of the group. I'm planning a tanker, this rescue truck, and lastly an ariel or Quint. So...I ordered a rescue body off the auction site. The main build will be based off the Ford Louisville short hauler. A newer, LS 9000 hood from Plaskit is being shipped.I assembled the beautiful rescue body, and heres a quick mock up of where I headed. Any feedback, comments or concerns welcome! Closeup of the engraved details this arrived with Jeff
  23. Nice looking chop!
  24. Glad you found the info, and hoping you share the process along the way!
