Revell Foose '48 Cadillac de-Foosed

You're probably right about mixing the formulas but I wonder why (but am glad) that it Thank you very much sir. Both great suggestions. I have a die cast '51 Caddy I would snatch the taillights from, it's the fins and getting them both correct, that would be the challenge for me. -

I love the color choices. Nicely done. -

Got some color on it. Model Master light purple with Tamiya pearl clear and clear. Looks blue in the pictures though. Need to rub out the orange peel. For some reason the paint on the hood cracked. Anyone know what causes that? -

Lots of good info. One thing not really covered is wheels. Does it matter if the wheels roll or are glued in place? On the subject of weathering, it bugs me to see rusted hulks with new looking tires. I haven't built a beater yet but I think sanding off the tread and maybe a little heat to make the tires look deflated would look more realistic on a rust bucket. -
X2. The foil under paint technique can be tedious but the results are worth the time.

I found these Olson Brothers resin fender skirts on ebay made specifically for the Foose Caddy. The casting is very clean and the fit is nearly perfect. These guys also make a bunch of cool parts for the Revell Bronco. -

I agree completely but I couldn't figure out the best way to scratch build the taillight fins. I do have another body and a die cast '51 Caddy that I'll use to sort it all out for another build. I think I'll use the kit interior on this one just to conserve time. -

Making progress on the hood. I tried to vacuum form a hood which didn't work out too well after several attempts. I cut one down and glued it over the kit hood to get the curve to match the windshield. -

That's pretty cool. Are you keeping the Eldorod scripts on the fenders? -

Thanks guys. I'm planning on keeping the three piece rear window and the two piece up front. The Caddy didn't go to a one piece windshield until 1950 and I want to keep this as close to a '48 as possible. -

I believe that was the pilot episode. Big fan of James Garner and the Rockford Files. Your diorama is spot on.
