  1. I have what appears to be the AMT 61 Mercury Monterey 2 door hardtop kit that I'd like to do in black with red interior. My Google searches only show this combination on the convertible. Does anyone know if the 61 hardtop was offered in this combo? Thanks
  2. The kit is the AWD version but I'll probably add 4X4 suspension. I'm thinking something more like this. I'll need to find a smaller wheel and tire package.
  3. Something I've been thinking about. I built this quite a few years ago but now I'm considering lifting the suspension and painting it white. What do you think?
  4. I have a few 60's - 70's Cadillac projects on the bench that I would like to add side mirrors to. I know these mirrors can be found in the Revell lowrider kit but I can't see spending $50 or more for 1 set of mirrors and then have a $50 kit with no mirrors. Is there anyone who has mastered 3D printing that would be willing/able to print a few sets of these in 1/25 scale?
  5. This Johan promo was pretty badly warped. I was able to get most of the body straightened out using the hot/cold water technique. The interior was beyond repair so I substituted one from a '59 Caddy sedan. The friction chassis was replaced with one from a '58 Chevy, extended to fit the Caddy wheelbase. Suspension lowered and hubcaps are '64 Caddy. Paint is Tamiya Champagne Gold.
  6. Beautifully done. I've been sitting on this kit for some time trying to figure out how to hot rod it but after seeing your build I'm having second thoughts. Maybe stock is the only way to go. Very very nice.
  7. This looks like it will be very interesting.
  8. These are so cool. Is that hopscotch on the ground?
  9. The color combo really makes it pop. Awesome paint job.
  10. Nice clean build. The color looks like what Cadillac called Chateau Mauve Firemist. I'm working on a 1970 Coupe Deville that will be that color. Very nice.
  11. Here's my version of Hasegawa BMW 2002 Turbo. Pretty much box stock with Alpina wheels from Ukrainian Scale Cars Productions, BMF chrome and black chrome and a bit of added details to the seats and door panels. Paint is BMW Silver Blue.
  12. I can't get enough of this. The diorama and the automobiles are just stunning.
  13. Beautiful build and photography. I have a '70 on the bench I'm going to do in what Ford called Medium Ivy Green Poly or Three Putt Green Metallic, similar to what you've done. Very nice!
  14. #2 looks like the hood from AMT's 1970 Thunderbird.
  15. Very nice! Did you use the Molotow pen or shoot it through an air brush?
  16. It's the AMT Escalade from the hood to the rear doors, rear fenders and tailgate with the Revell Silverado rear window bulkhead and shortened pickup bed. Scratch built bed cover with the Escalade brake light and modified Silverado frame.
  17. Thanks guys, I'm glad some folks like it as much as I do. Blame it on my A.D.D. Like so many other builds I get to point where I just want to get it done and move on to the other 5 or 6 projects on the bench. I also wanted to have it finished in time for last weeks show in Tampa, which by the way was a great show with some utterly phenomenal builds. I'm trying to get myself to the point of focusing on 1 build at a time so they are truly finished but with so much going on in life it would take years to finish one project. But maybe that's what it takes to get to the next level. Thanks again!
  18. OMG, the AMG Red Pig. Please tell us who to contact to get one. Keep the pics coming.
  19. Wow indeed. That's going to be one killer Caddy.
  20. Thanks! That's what usually gets me in trouble with the wife. Thank you.
  21. I'm finally calling this one done (for the most part). Revell's Foose Eldorod with modified hood, AMT '51 Bel Air roof and trunk lid, grill and wheels from a '53 Caddy diecast, Revell STS engine cover over an LS1, Olsen Brothers' resin skirts, painted with Testors Gloss Purple under Tamiya Pearl Clear. At some point I'll revisit the hood to make it fit the grill better and get the fender skirts to sit properly, but despite its flaws, overall I'm happy with it. Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement during the WIP and let me know what you think.
