  1. This is the Lindberg 61 so the tunnel may need to be modified either way. I ordered the Powerglide and the 700R4. Hopefully one of these shouldn't need much modification.
  2. Hi all. I'm going to put an LS1 engine from the Revell 1999 Corvette in a '61 Impala. Any suggestions on what transmission would make sense and the best place to source one? Thanks
  3. 1/16 scale MPC Honda CB77 done in a sort of Cafe racer style. Modifications include clear cast headlight lens, handlebars bent down slightly, seat from a Yamaha racer, shortened front and rear fenders, scratch built shocks, 1/25 scale resin K&N style air filters and wiring. The exhaust pipes are wrapped with exhaust tape and the mufflers were shortened and hollowed out. Headlight, tank, seat and pipes are covered in sanded BMF to replicate bare metal. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
  4. Contacted Lindberg on March 15th, Douglas responded the next day, corrected hood dash and windshield arrived March 23rd. That's great customer service. Thanks Doug.
  5. I know it's an old thread but it just became relevant to me. I got this kit as a gift this past Christmas. I opened it that day and found the trim was damaged on the left rear quarter. I contacted Lindberg and within a short time they sent me a new body. This past week to get out of my building slump I decided to get the body prepared for paint. When I put the original hood on the replacement body it didn't fit but it fit the original body perfectly. That's when I noticed the difference in the two bodies. Apparently the original kit I got as a gift was the first tooling with the D shaped cowl and hood and the replacement body is the corrected tooling. I'll contact Lindberg and see if and how they will remedy this. When I first contacted them they asked for a picture of the UPC code and other numbers on the box. Not sure why they didn't see then that the kit was the bad one and send me the corrected hood, windshield and dash along with the body. We'll see what happens.
  6. Jeff, we can always count on you to produce a smoking Caddy. Gorgeous.
  7. Lol. Agreed. I prefer the Lincoln Mark V but this makes me want one.
  8. Tamiya kit built about 10 years ago.
  9. Try using duckduckgo.com. Copy and paste the link in the first post into the duckduckgo search and you should get in the full story.
  10. I believe the one with the trim would be 1971 or 72. The center of the front bumper should be below the grill. The rear fender "vents" appear to be an ode to the 50-54 Caddies. The no trim would be 73 or 74. The center of the front bumper should go straight across the grill. There is usually a side trim running from behind the front wheel opening to the rear fender, just before the taillight.
  11. Fireballs on a '70 DeVille. Couldn't get the BMF to stick though so I went with Motlow.
  12. Not sure what the car in question is but I sure do miss my 300TE.
  13. Sorry but I agree with Daddyfink. I don't understand how they expect to get new blood interested in the hobby with the same refried kits. When you see the prices many of the old promos are going for you'd think they'd want to get a piece of that action and offer some of those as kits. Even that may not entice younger folks into the hobby but there are plenty of us old heads that would scoop up a few of those kits. Maybe it's my short attention span but there's only so many times I can build the same kit or even find interest in someone else's build that we've all seen hundreds of times before no matter how crisp and clean it may be. Sorry for the rant but it's just frustrating.
  14. Parked in the Audi Fort Myers service bay. Not sure of it's authenticity but sure looks real.
