  1. Not that it matters, but I don't see what the problem is. Maybe I'm naive, but I would think that any model entered into a contest would be judged on the quality of the build, not the materials used to make it. Fact is everyone that builds 3d models is not at the same level as Bill Cunningham, just as everyone that builds styrene kits is not at the same level as a Steve Guthmiller or a Ron Hamilton. So the thought that any fully 3d printed model, or a model containing 3d parts, will automatically be superior to an all styrene build is unfounded. There is even a difference in the quality of 3d files being created. Some are much better than others, and a poorly made file will give you a bad print, if it prints at all. Just sounds like more of us old guys clinging to the past and fearing the future.
  2. Same here. It doesn't come up on Google. What's website address?
  3. I tested it on these 3d printed wheels. The pictures don't show the true shine. I used the bottle's brush for all 3. The one on the left has the clear coat or varnish applied. The one on the right has a smudge from where I touched it a couple of hours after it was painted. The clear did dull the shine a bit, but I think it looks OK for a hubcap. I'll try Alclad clear and see what that looks like. So far I'm happy with this stuff.
  4. Lol. No worries. I got the information I was looking for. And, if I can spark an informative and entertaining conversation then it's a good day. Thanks
  5. That is very nice
  6. I could look at Mr. Guthmiller's work all day.
  7. Hope this doesn't discourage Henri and he moves on to the nextone. I've been there a couple of times where the paint and clear react at a point where it's too late to turn back so I let them ride and maybe address it at a later date (yeah right).
  8. Very nice, and thanks for not stancing the wheels.
  9. Did you use any clear over the chrome before you applied the wash?
  10. I'm in. Can't wait to try it.
  11. I agree. I like seeing older cars in good shape, still running. This looks like a work truck that hasn't done much work in it's life. Probably hauling computers and such around the campus. I'm really struck by the way the graffiti artists took care not to paint over the train cars' vital information 😐.
  12. Fantastic. I love the taillight treatment, and the frame/exhaust set up is a work of art in itself. Another hit.
  13. The Tamiya Mica Red is metallic. Is the Mica Blue also metallic?
  14. Nice pictures but where's the diorama? Amazing as always.
  15. Glad I'm not the only one. I looked at the Bezrodny file to see what they were talking about. I've never heard it called that before.
  16. Wait a minute. You applied pinstripes to the taillights? That's a testament to great eyesight, a steady hand, and tons of patience. Outstanding.
  17. Nice build. Is that you singing?
  18. Very nice build of a very nice car.
  19. My last build was painted with Tamiya pearl white. It's a 3d print so I covered it in gray primer sealer first, then Tamiya white primer with the pearl over that.
  20. Lemonade out of lemons for sure. Any more pics?
