  1. I've used it, in fact I have several colors of it shipped to me by accident. I always thin it to at least 25% to get it to spray finely enough for me. Its a water-based product, so its not going to etch into the plastic like solvent-based paints. You need to sand the body with 600 grit prior to spraying. Have you watched Chris on any of the YT vids? Lots of good info on Createx.
  2. A quick how-to for adding a logo to a drawing. I used the free app Meshmixer, but you can use Blender as well. I made a drawing for a Model T bed to fit my C-cab to convert it to a pickup but I didn't have a way to add the Ford script so I downloaded a free file of a full sized coaster with the Ford logo from Cults. I pulled the logo into Meshmixer and used the Plane Cut tool to cut away all of the surrounding drawing I didn't need. Then used the Transform tool to resize it to fit the bed. The key is to have enough material to embed into the original file yet leave enough above the surface to show. I next imported the bed into the drawing. The program will ask if you want it resized to fit, to which you should select No. Again I used the Transform tool to move the logo to the appropriate position and moved it so only the text would show beyond the tailgate surface then select . I then selected Accept to complete the operation. In the Object Browser I selected both drawings using control/select. A list of options will appear on a panel. Select Combine to complete the operation.
  3. Thanks Chris. I don't recall seeing yours. I saw one on Shapeways that was never for sale but it wasn't from you. I typically don't offer files that are already out there.
  4. I love what you've done myself. l I'm doing a roadster as well and thought the same, but keep this in mind - the 2020 record for the CBR is was 26 hours, so if you're going for the record you don't run if the weather isn't perfect so topless isn't a big deal. Ditto if you have any car trouble. I'm building mine based on those premises and damn the torpedoes (critics).?
  5. Well done!
  6. Awesome build!
  7. I would check with the card company to ensure what your rights are and if I'm covered, quickly move to cancel the order. Also, make a screen print of any promises on their order page/website regarding ship dates, and any email notifications you may have received. Just to have some evidence in case it needed. Good luck!
  8. Thanks for the explanation. I think yours looks reasonably accurate. I used the attached pic myself to calculate the boom length, and looking at the drawing with it in the truck bed, yours looks pretty close if not spot on.
  9. High quality work!
  10. I built that kit a couple of years ago and it was a bear, but with patience and your obvious eye for detail I'm sure this will be a sweet build.
  11. Awesome work! I've been working on a Weaver crane design to print in 3D since the beginning of the year and got as far as the boom angle using estimated lengths. How did you come up with the measurements for the A-frame?
  12. Nicely done!
  13. Sweet!
  14. For those interested in my free files, I've updated the Rotofaze distributor by adding the caps and capacitors. Also, I drew up an Enderle barn door injector. Its not an exact replica but I'm happy about the result. Both files should be available on my Cults site in a week or so as I haven't printed them yet. I always print my creations to catch any printing issues.
  15. Killer build!

    Nice!
  17. I saw a vid a while back on detailing military tanks and they covered that method. Great stuff.
  18. Me, I got the Anycubic Photon Zero when they were on clearance for $99. Its a small print bed and good only for parts but you can also print bodies like the Anglia, or a Model T tub. I'd go with the best resolution I could pay for if it were me doing it again, but I'm not unhappy with what I got. Like Scott indicated, research a bit, but don't get too bogged down. Good luck.
  19. Awesome project and fabrication work! I used to work in the pole yard at our electric utility unloading poles from trucks before the company decided to to to self loaders/unloaders and you hit the mark on the detail exactly.
